Washing/Cleaning Limonene...?

hello dear nexians, so SWIM is wondering about how limonene is supposed to be cleaned for re-use. He has read in the previously posted threads that people just distill/rotovap it. SWIM however does not own any distillation equipment or any similar devices. He hasn't been able to find any appropriate answers though that suit his need. it has only been mentioned once that it can be washed using vinegar/acid, however he wanted to confirm this. SWIM is doing a BLAB tek, and after precipitating dmt-fumarate, his limo now contains FASI. So SWIM's questions are:
1. Can he just mix the used limo and vinegar together, let separate layers form, and separate the limo? Is this enough to clean it? would this separate the FASI from the limo
2. Is there another better alternative that others use for cleaning their limo?

Yes the limo can be used after salting out the alkaloids if its an acidic acqueous solution (FASW or vinegar) without another special cleaning necessary. If you precipitated with FASI then you need to wash the limo a few times (lets say at least 3) with water to remove the IPA, and then you can reuse it.

but then wouldn't there be fumaric acid remains if the limo is not washed? wouldn't this mean that when i re-use the limo for another pull, the dmt in the limo would precipitate while still soaked in the bark solution due to contact with fumaric acid?

which one's better - just water or vinegar? fumaric acid is less soluble in water than vinegar right? (since they're both acidic)

If its FASW, the fumaric acid will be in the water layer so no there wont be fumaric acid remains in the limo. If you do FASI, yes you have to wash with water, as I said, more because of the IPA than because of the fumaric acid.. Think about it, if you are putting the limonene back in a high pH mimosa mix, any tiny remains of fumaric acid will be immediately neutralized by the large amounts of the base in the acqueous layer, it wont be bad in any way for your extraction. Washing limo that had FASI with water is important because some of the IPA would mix with the acqueous mimosa layer and would trap your alkaloids.
