Water/doseing q's

SWIM's doing an extraction of m.hostilis, but had a few questions:

UK Tap water- is it ok to use for the tek, or would distilled water be necessary?

Dosing- if, in order to dose correctly, SWIM would like to dissolve the resulting DMT in a liquid, do I do this in water? (IE 100ml water per dose, evaporate water then smoke) or is there something better (IE redissolving known quantity in naptha, evaporating in 10 ml drops)

Or even (withought mg scales) were SWIM to be looking (theoretically) for a better way of accurately measuring the following: a few (5 or 6 x 50 mg) doses to smoke, and a few (7 or 8 x 100/150 mg) doses for putting in gel caps for pharmahuasca, what would be reccomended?

1) I think tap water is generally accepted to be ok in the extraction process since it's "food grade" .Worse come to worse the ph may be a little more than 7 but that shouldn't be an issue.
2) SWIM doesn't own a scale that can accurately measure quantityes less than 100mg so SWIM just eyeballs it.SWIM personally considers this to be a lot less hassle than continuously evaping toxic solvent so you can get an accurate quantity since inhaling naphta vapors is more toxic than vaping too much spice and blasting off further than planned in SWIM's book

tap water is ok to use in the tek.

i don't know why you want to redissolve dmt into water? i wouldn't redissolve it to anything, just put it in the freezer in an air tight container, don't make it more work for you, you could effect oxidizing it more by redissolving and evaporating and so forth.

Tap water is fine for extraction yes.

As for the other question, dmt freebase is not really soluble in water, check this out: Psychedelic Compounds Chemical and Physical Properties - DMT-Nexus Wiki

DMT will only dissolve in acidified water, but then you would have to re-add base and extract again. Check the FAQ for recrystallization and washing, those are the two ways that are used for cleaning up dmt.

Do NOT eyeball your dosage if you are going to consume dmt orally! An overdose of smoked dmt will probably just make you black out and be back 10 mins later. An overdose of oral dosage might take you into a serious hell for hours and hours, you can panick, do stupid things, etc.

You dont need a mg scale but do get a 10mg scale (0.01g) or in the very least a 0.1g scale and then measure, say, 0.3g and divide that into 6 doses for vaporizing, and maybe 8 or 10 doses for oral (at least first time before you know your individual sensitivity).

The reason I was asking about dissolving was because I don't have any scales at all, and can't Afford 300$ ones at the moment. The technique works for other drugs, so it occured to me that there might be a way of doing it with dmt...
So do I read these replies as 'there is no other way to be reasonably accurate than to go buy scales'
or is there some method of dosing that I haven't come across yet?

you can get for a tenth of this or less. is 30 bucks too much for your budget?

and as for dissolving, if you dont know how much dmt you have in the first place, how will it help to dissolve it ?
