Been lurking for a loooong time now, so long probably i could have developed my own method of extracting but as usual all things fall the waste side... so with that being said, I am looking for some help.. help from the hundreds/thousands of pages I have read regarding extraction. I just do not get it. I suck at chemistry, I think that has much to do with it and cant seem to understand what method is best, what is the most natural and like most I am worried about taking the internal leftovers of chemicals. So with that being said and probably most of you are shaking your heads at a newbie.. I am just lost with all the information that is out there... it really is crazie ......

Can someone break it down into little people terms? I would be willing to talk one on one and follow steps or make this a huge post for little people like me?
Thanks

This seems kind of self-contradictory. If you have been lurking for so long that you could have "developed your own method of extracting" why do you need someone to spell it out more clearly than it is in the wiki or teks? Honestly, imo, if you cant understand one of the numerous pictorials available on the Nexus and the Wiki, you should not be doing an extraction. Now if you have specific questions, I'd be happy to answer those (assuming they are not already answered in the FAQ or elsewhere). What are your specific questions?

I remember my first visit to the nexus, boy was i overwhelmed! I feel that some of the extractions on this site are meant for chemistry majors, yet others are as simple as following a cookbook! Have you tried q21's? It is pretty straightforward and IMO the easiest extraction to perform. I'm no chemistry expert but you can PM me with any specific questions and i'll do my best to explain in layman's terms.

Yes do check the FAQ, thats the first place to look. As you can see there is a question "where to start" regarding extractions.. Keep reading the FAQ, the WIKI, the forums in general. It may take days, weeks or months. If you really want it, you're gonna learn a lot. I can tell you a few years ago I didnt know ANYTHING of chemistry, probably worse than you, but Ive learned so much in this place. Good luck

Read read read, and then, do some more reading. Seriously you gotta put in day and days of reading, this way you are 100% sure about what you are doing, all the answers are here.

But from your post you have been doing alot of reading so im confused as to your request. It really cant get any simpler than and A/B or STB.

What I would recomend is, go through the extraction on paper or in your head. Pretend you're measuring stuff and write it down on paper. Try to imagine yourself doing parts of it and write down anything that confuses you. I remember I couldn't understand how a small amount of naphtha would hold the DMT, I thought for sure I was reading it wrong. But it was correct afterall.

Another thing, while you're doing the extraction, write down EVERYTHING! Include detailed time logs such as "lightly shook container @ 5:24pm" and "Added extra 10g NaOH @ 7:22am". That way when you come posting here for help people can see EXACTLY what you've done and recommend what you should do next. Record everything from the size of container you used down to how long you let the solution sit before performing pulls.

Another added bonus to writing everything down is you have notes next time you do an extraction. Be prepared to completely fail on your first attempt and keep at it.
