If you were going to do a theoretical extraction of 137g of MHRB via some kind of STB (maybe an acid cook added prior to basing) and you had the choice of using a 1500ml vessel of a gallon vessel, which would you use?

I know that 15ml/g is usually recommended. Using the 1500ml vessel about ~11ml/g would be used which I believe could cause potential emulsion issues. Using the gallon vessel, ~28ml/g would be used. If you were to use the gallon container I assume it would take more pulls because the DMT in the solution will be more diluted? I also assume more more lye would have to be added to get the pH up where I want it. The only plus side I can see is that emulsions would be less of an issue. Both these vessels need to be pretty much full to use effectively due to their shapes so only using a part of the gallon container isn't a good option.

If you were to do this extraction which way container would you use?

1500 ml should be okay. If enough salt and lye are added, emulsions should not be a problem. If it is, you can always change to a bigger container and add salty lye solution to fit bigger volume.

ive heard about adding salt but havent myself and not too sure what the theory is behind it. would someone mind elaborating? i think 1500ml container is plenty. just dont overbase, and add the lye as a solution and not directly to your bark, word has it this results in cleaner spice.

id use the 1500ml, I normally use a 1000ml for 100g so you will be fine with the smaller jar
