Where to get lye? Safety of The Big Leisurely A/B tek?

Do you know of any retail chains that carry lye? All i've found are the roebic drain opener products in Lowes but every Lowe's i've been to has an empty slot for that product.
Yet online they do have the product available for in store pickup. So i'm guessing they're taking precautions.


Also, how safe are these extraction teks? I'm somewhat new to this but I'm good at following directions. BUT in case something goes wrong in a procedure, will it be obvious? I'm choosing to follow the BLAB tek but i'm really worried.

Is it possible for the lye, muratic acid, etc to adulterate the actual dmt and possibly have unwanted health effects?
I'm extremely concerned with the chemicals used to extract the DMT

Well I just looked up some info on lye and it turns out that the vaporization temperature is around 1400 C.

So I guess i'm safe for now.

But is there still a chance of the DMT being adulterated?

Maxx, I too have had the same problem, and with a history of creative chemistry I am too paranoid to do the on-line thing. However, I have seen teks that use vinegar and CaOH (calcium hydroxide) which can both be gotten at the grocery store without raising any eyebrows. Personally I have done this tek up to the point doing a pull but have had a similar problem procuring decent solvent. What I have at this point looks and smells right but it had a large emulsion layer that took a couple of days to separate.

OH, and "no", the chems,if used properly, whether CaOH, Naoh, or HCl will not adulterate your product. They all break down into benign salts and water. Justkeep 'em out of your eyes. Use a splash shield with the strong stuff.
One final idea...I noticed at the site that carried, they mentioned that it was used in "pretzel making". Might look for a bakery?

Maxx, check your tek, you won't be heating the lye and the heat of reaction won't even be close...worry more about your eyes. I had pressurized NaOH shoot into my eyes while doing a different extraction. My buddy poured a gallon of vinegar in my eyes to nuetralize it. My vision was blurred for several days after THAT ordeal. USE A SPLASH SHIELD with lye and HCl!!!
