who else uses ayahuasca/orally active dmt once a week?

@Jamie01

in my opinion extracts are fine as long as its full spec. im very against isolating the active chemicals personally. each to their own though, i just think its disrespectful towards the plant to isolate it.
Okay but why stop at alkaloids? You are removing a lot of chemicals already with a tea.

Yes I tend to want full spectrum as well, but this is not a traditional practice when it comes to herbalism. Trained herbalists are very aware that some plants can contain both medically relevant as well as toxic alkaloids, terpenes etc and know when and how to separate things. There are clear examples of this in the Amazon as well. Even adding crushed shells to freebase yopo seeds is changing the chemistry. It’s chemistry.

Why is the core often removed from cacti brews in the Andes?

This thread is making me wonder if the TnT Vodka TEK would work with Charcruna or Chaliponga and ‘if’ the extract would have different feels?
I did it once with chali, but didn't try the result due to a lack of time. It did work in extracting the DMT. @Transform pointed out there was a chance some toxic products could form, so one should proceed carefully when trying it, starting with low doses and perhaps without harmalas at first.

Not really any need to poke fun or make this an argument. It's just different opinions. Though I'm not familiar with the show so maybe I'm missing the point of the reference
It was meant as a double edged sword, poking a little fun both at myself, my own statement, along with the OP.
If disrespecting 1 plant via processing any other plant is disrespected by processing / extracting.

We all read into things and extrapolate more meaning and we can never know for sure if that meaning is truth, I only have to read my own Trip reports to see my unknowing extrapolation of experience. I feel like there is a body within my body at times, but is there?

Until I have some form of epiphany moment that re-educates me I'm going to be more of a materialist, though I do hope everything is consciousness. *Fingers firmly crossed*

My next question would be, do Charcruna, Chaliponga, Virola Bark or Acacia Confusa contain Tannins like MHRB that the full Vodka TEK would remove? Or would we be talking more Tincture making without the need for Tannin removal?

People are biased, and we like to feed that devil inside that tells us, "You're the best and know it all." Each life journey is unique, and each medicine journey is just as unique.
All we can do is hear others' perspectives and see if we can glimpse some of the wisdom they have accumulated. However in most cases, we see what is already in us. That is why we use these plants anyway. So, I see no problem with any modality as long as it's used for good and not as an escape from yourself. It's all about presence or awareness in the end. How you get there is of little importance.

You can passively wait or educate yourself on different cosmologies, and maybe it will create a more fertile ground for that epiphany ;)

when i say "full spec" i really mean just not isolating the active psychedelic chemical. i like keeping things "whole" in the regard that i always felt chemical isolation stripes away the essence/spirit of the plant. its more so a personal belief i have not something i think needs to be enforced, for mimosa im aware brewing strips away alot of the chemicals also. i do wanna try cold water extraction one day, for me personally i like the process of making a tea, doing blessings over it and drinking it like we would've in the jungle when i spent time there. it just all comes down to this is how i was taught to do things by taitas.

it also depends on the lineage because ive seen other lineages not filter their brews at all leaving all the bark and sediment. so i think it all comes down to what you enjoy doing the most, i just enjoy consuming the teas.

I'm reading what I can, mostly Strassman, Gallimore, Proff Nutt, Kristof Koch currently enjoying the Alexander Beiner book 'The Bigger Picture' which is feeling very much of the times. I don't do fiction books and probably wouldn't read about religions unless I found a very good reason to do so. (I had enough of forced Christianity as a kid, occasionally liked it but mostly didn't give a chuff)

So you're doing the work already 🥳

I think when we have a broader picture, it's more in alignment with what is. Religion talks aside, Buddhist philosophy like Madhyamaka is designed to deconstruct any notion of "reality" as we know it. It's a fascinating world, yet truth lives beyond the reach of our intellect, imo.

Those vine brews with the sediment can be quite a bit more powerful in my experience, and have a strong body load.

I want to try oral dmt as I struggle with inhaling it.
oral dmt will not be like smoking, unless you take alot and the amount which is needed will be hard for a first timer to keep down/the come up will smack you lmao. so if youre gonna try oral dmt i advise starting at 35mg-45mg with 150mg of harmala's. expect it to be like a low-moderate shroom in terms of intensity and headspace but will have its own unique character. you can def increase the dmt as you gain more understanding, but oral vs smoked are two different animals ime.
