why do so many dmt users believe in 2012?

Migrated topic.
"Because, if nobody is there to perceive it - There will be no reality for anybody"
Excellent point Mr DMT!
So how many of us are there? This conciseness that each of us seems to think they have? With the facts i got I say just me `here, making it all up as I go along unselfconscious of myself and my delusion, that I am the single conciseness that thinks it is many:shock: What a devine fool I would be eh?

Interesting speculation and discussion.

The Amazing Randy he has a million dollars up for grabs to anyone who can prove any paranormal or supernatural phenomenon in a lab environment. He once did a homeopathy test with a french Dr researcher on the discovery channel. The Dr could not duplicate the results he claimed so no million dollars but he was on TV.

OK here is the link and excerpt
"In 1987, Randi became a naturalized citizen of the United States.[13] Randi has said that one reason he became an American citizen was an incident while on tour with Alice Cooper:)lol: ) where the Royal Canadian Mounted Police searched the band's lockers during a performance, holding Randi at gunpoint when he objected.During Alice Cooper's 1973-1974 tour, Randi performed as the dentist and executioner on stage.[24] Also, Randi had designed and built several of the stage props, including the guillotine.
Current health - cancer treatment (Go see Alice wile hes still alive HELL OF A SHOW:lol: )
At the The Amaz!ng Meeting 7 (July 9 - 12, 2009), Randi, in a wheelchair, announced to the audience that he is fighting intestinal cancer and had a "ping pong ball"-sized tumor removed from his intestines two weeks earlier and would begin chemotherapy two weeks after the conference: "We'll fight it," he said, "And we'll beat this. We still have a lot of work to do."[18] He also said at the conference: "One day, I'm gonna die. That's all there is to it. Hey, it's too bad, but I've got to make room. I'm using a lot of oxygen and such — I think it's good use of oxygen myself, but of course, I'm a little prejudiced on the matter."[18] Randi also said that after he is gone he does not want his fans to bother with a museum of magic named after him or burying him in a fancy tomb, instead he said, "I want to be cremated, and I want my ashes blown in Uri Geller's eyes."
His physicians have put his five-year survival rate at 50%.[18]

Please consider me when collecting the $ loot surley I might deserve something????:)
small referral fee maybe.........

I respect the opinions of all others and wish I to could believe as I once did. So I guess you could say I am not sure of anything until the conciseness/brain question can be answered.

Thats why I am a member of the Nexus because we are working on that issue, and may be on the cutting edge of conciseness research. Now that is amazing and something to be proud of. So we must try to run a tight experement here even if it is not official it is still learning and growth.

So its all good but we should be careful, just as any explorer would in uncharted territory. Since we seek to dismiss the dogma of old we must be sure we do not simply create another dogma. Such has been the work of religious missionary's in the past. Yes they changed the natives "evil ways" what way was that another myth or lie a different evil ignorant way.

So who will be the first generation to bring us out of our modern DARK AGES? A society based on tried and true teks (SCIENTIFIC METHOD and proof of progress) So far I am sure most of would agree that the beliefs of the society's in general up until this point are fundamentaly flawed and so are for all practical purposes BULLSHIT(pardon me again)

I am going to post this to so others will be able to see where I am coming from. That location is NOWHERE.:) its just a unconfirmed meme in my mind.

PEACE
MV

PS there is also a $50,000 reward for any live snake in excess of 34feet:lol: If you seen that dude please PM me so I can wrangle the snake up measure it and set it free back to its home in a undisclosed location. That wont fund the MV institute but its a start:lol:

2012 will go one of two ways: People make something happen for whatever reason they have to exploit the hype, or people will be too busy waiting for something to happen to even bother to facilitate any sort of event. Certainly novelty theory has some vague credence, but the only fulfillment of prophecy we will likely see is self-fulfillment.

On the other subject at hand: My experience of the world can be best summed up in an allegory.

The self is like a sun, and the light is its perception. This light can be cast on one side of a planet, and though that planet may rotate and expose all sides to the light of perception, everything behind that illuminated surface (the inside, the other side, and behind the planet) is hidden in shadow. The planet can be smashed into pieces, and though the illuminated area may continue to increase, there will always be that shadow region. Even the sun itself has its own shadow region within and the source of light emission cannot be considered as illuminated or shadow, but simply, luminous. However, the illuminated and luminosity itself is ultimately sourced in shadow, and to complicate matters more, shadow couldn't be differentiated as shadow except that it is cast by the cooperation of both the illuminated and luminosity. Shadow also makes illuminability possible by persistence in the sense that though a moon may reside in the shadow of this planet, if it were to orbit to the other side, it would be illuminated, but this wouldn't be possible had that moon not persisted through the shadow prior to this illumination. The shadow within this sun can also potentially be illuminated by yet another sun, as well.

To sum up this allegory: The shadow, or the imperceivable, is the persistent core or foundation upon which the illuminable, or perceivable, may be illuminated, or perceived. Explaining any of these except in terms of each other is an impossibility, and the best we can hope to accomplish is to work at understanding the ways in which they work together.

Dualism's (i.e. objectivity and subjectivity or body and soul) always turned out a dead end for me. The only way I've managed to come to any satisfactory understanding of the universe is by a cyclical tripartite conceptualization.

Regarding astrology: I don't believe that the planets effect us via some kind of "invisible rays of energy", but I don't deny the assertion that the movement of the planets may be somehow synchronized with the events of human history, perhaps down to the tiniest scale. If astrology has some merit, then this is the basis of it, not some kind of cause-effect relationship.

This is all a bunch of nonsense, but because some people believe something will happen on 2012 then of course they will makes things happen.

Think of it as the year 2000. In 1999 people thought all sorts of chaos was going to happen when the year 2000 came about and they were preparing for it. Well, it came and went, and there was no chaos. A few computers had trouble with the date update, that was all.

2012 will pass just like 2000.

I think it's a great time to celebrate the Mayans though. I will definitely celebrate the event. It's a once in a life time celebration opportunity. 2012 will never happen again. Join the party, have fun, and then go back to work the next day, business as usual.

Hmm... Because the shit is real?

Last night I woke up after my endogenous DMT experience (the lucid dream, you know 😉) thinking to myself: ,If this is the ultimate goal, the teleology of the human history (which is) than I must go for It regardless of everything, literally over dead bodies.´

I don´t think so...

Why?
Simple...Because many DMT users believe everything you'l say, as long as it involves mystery and paranormal events.

I don't think that this is caused by brain damage as the result of exessive use of DMT, but that very susceptible people are just naturally drawn to this substance.

Just like it's more likely that people who like to watch sci-fi movies are more likely to believe in things like 'roswell' than people who rather watch 'notting hill','three weddings and a funeral'and other hugh grant featuring movies. They are more likely to believe in impossible romance and such.

Who cares what I actually believe. It will happen or not. Who cares..
I often thought about this life and many times i asked myself, if there is a reason or meaning to it.

I sometimes was so desperate I saw NOthing to it.

Just a random life on a planet called earth.

But other times, i meet some highly developed people. Very insightful and truthfull loving people who are so loving and helping that i have to say: THERE IS FAITH.

What do you mean by there is faith? My understanding of faith is to believe something completly without any evidence to back up what you believe is correct. If you consider a vision you've seen as evidence to support your belief then you would be having faith in your vision to support your belief, unless you conduct experiments with your visions to determine weather they have any truth concerning the "Reality" we all seem to experience, backed by scientific observations, if you can confirm it through reality then its no longer faith, its something you have found to be true.

Is there faith, of course. You can blindly believe anything you want, thats faith.

Also....

Reality can be confirmed for the most part by many others observing the exact thing, if the whole world can constanly check it and find it to be true then it does exist in our reality. Personnaly in my own views, how could anyone consider that you have to observe something for it to exsist, i think it would be more like your not sure it exists, or have no proof until you observe it. Would you really logicly consider that a star does not exist until you've seen it? Sounds to far fetched for me, i connect that with seeing a star and somewhat through physics determining its age and finding that it existed millions of years before you discovered it.

There has to be some form of faith. You believe the ground will not spontaneously cave in while you walk. You trust your heart to continue beating when you can't control it. And more importantly, you believe that you will wake up the next day to go about your job or business. Without some form of faith you'd be nothing. One would argue "we use physics and chemistry to prove the ground will not collapse" yes that's true but....We still haven't proven that any of it actually exists in the first place. To my knowledge there is no way to prove anyone is an individual.

What really interests me, speaking of "reality" again, is the specific feeling that we get while using DMT. For me, for a split second of the trip I actually understand something. Usually it's something like "the body is irrelevant why are you still clinging to it?" and I see what we could be without it. I've always heard people talking about things like "we are nothing, and everything" and it never really made sense until then. I'm not sure why altering the brain chemistry for a few minutes would allow this understanding. Trying to prove it however, is an entirely different matter. I think we'd have to try to prove this while we were all experiencing the same trip. Otherwise it's free game.

I understand that you have to have faith in somethings, i was stating that of course there is faith, you even have to have faith in science. But if reality did not exist, how would you figure that your here to experience it and talk about it? You wouldn't be! because you would not exist. There may be more to how we perceive reality, some things in reality we can't perceive, but reality has to exist for you to observe it. And all of reality can't be confirmed, but some of it can, maybe not how it operates as solid confirmanation, but is deffintly consistent through out all life.

"Why do so many DMT users believe in 2012?"

Because hippies are obsessed with the Maya, because they built pyramids and ate mushrooms. And hippies want change.

The computer-clock-bug did nothing in the year 2000, and I doubt anything will happen when the Mayan's calendar runs out either.

faith is a real thing that people should have and use, but it's tantamount to instinct... what you learn and you understand in the world denotes what you should have faith in... there's nothing wrong with having faith in something if you have evidence to believe it, the unknown is the leap, the problem is having faith in something with no evidence at all, because the leap is too large.

Mr_DMT I think that's a misconception that "non-believers" or whatever actually believe in a life with no meaning or purpose, I think you'd be surprised how far from the truth that is... in fact my scientific side has given me a greater sense of my place in the universe, and I can have faith in it because I have the evidence to believe it.

Don't forget there are 300 billion+ galaxies, you have astronomers to thank for that understanding, I could go on, but frankly just that fact alone says there isn't nothing, I mean what more do you want? religion is really rather pedestrian here... but I think it's really a frame of reference, some people hear 300 billion galaxies and they feel more alone, smaller, I don't see it that way, I feel lucky, and I see an almost unbelievable amount of mysteries and surprises... when you really understand modern science, you start to feel like anything is possible. It's much more spirtual than any holy book.

Sorry guys
I'm german :)
IF you switch the word faith into destiny, my opinion would be clearer^^.
But you can read it as it is. I think it's true anyway.

2012 turned into some huge conspiracy theory. Everyday theres seems to be a new thing that "might" happen. Ancient aliens, rapture, doomsday, and the list goes on. People seem to be exploiting this whole event with books and whatnot, its really gotten out of hand, and i expect it to get worse as we get closer. From what i gather its like when the odometer on your car hits the max and goes back to zero to begin again. Its the beginning of a new cycle, being around for that should be pretty cool though.

people who like seeing entities and being transported through other dimensions already have an affinity for things of a different order than that of everyday-life.

people you find in a casino are also more likely to believe in something mysterious as 'luck' than every ordinary man on the street.

As I´ve explained, the ,2012´ is dialectically connected with ,DMT´. In fact, the ,2012´ (the ,Eschaton´ ) is one big ,DMT´ ,trip´. Get prepared by smoking lots of ,DMT´.

The approach to 2000 was nothing compared to this though.

Really? My wife had no idea of the meaning of 2012. I have a lot of friends that also have no idea why 2012 is special. Everyone I know knew about the "Chaos of 2000" which never happened. So I think 2000 was definitely more than anything 2012 will amount to because most people don't even know anything about the year 2012, just a few people here and some people who study the Mayans. No else I know knows about it.

If you google 2012, most of the results seem to be about the movie :) Well the top results anyway... scrub that... the UK olympics also.

I would absolutely piss my pants if Jesus came back though... man! he would get paparazzi'd the living shit out of!!!
