hey folks
can u share some knowledge,or provide any links to the subject of extracting the harmala
i mean not how to make it,
i want to understand the usage of this,i mean if i drink harmala-tea,then ingest spice ,so the journey will be longer i guess
but what do peeps do with haramal' sextractions ?
tnx very much!

i am sorry ,can u plz direct me what section of wiki ? there r recipes
but not too much "theoretical" info,i know i can drink it,and i drunk it a lot
what the other uses ? why peeps separate harmine and harmaline, what the difference ?
it is possible to smoke harmala ?

Harmine/Harmaline are MAOI inhibitors. Think of it this way, when someone eats spice it is oxidized internally faster then it is absorbed into someones bloodstream. No effect. Now, an MAOI inhibits (read: it stops the reaction from occurring, or slows it down to an extent a body can metabolize it.) and *poof* spice is orally active.

MAOIs also prevent other things from being oxidized in your diet and some of these are harmful for you. You NEED to read up on MAOIs before taking them. Harm is a selective and reversible inhibitor, but still advise caution.

well,
you extract them for several reasons:

a) you get pure product. If you are using rue for example there are two other alkaloids in the seeds that you can get rid of by performing the Manske step in the extraction. This is good because these alkaloids are utero toxic and I think might also cause nausea. And if they don't then the rest of the plant matter or what's in it does. so the extract will give you less body load

b) the extract can be used for changa

c) if you use extract you know with much better accuracy how much you are ingesting, provided that you performed the extraction well and cleaned your product to the best of your capabilities - then you can expect you are ingesting the amount that your scale reads out...

hope this answered your Q.

cheers
Enoon
