Migrated topic.

Hi!

First of all I want to say that I'm really happy to be here, such a great place containing so much great information. I'm preparing for my very first extraction and the tek of my choice has landed on q21q21' fluffy white stuff. Tho I'm really struggling atm to find a solvent to work with, and would love your input on one I recently found.

It is branded as - "Technical petroleum of heptane type"

MSDS says - "This product contains one pure or almost pure substance. Naphtha (petroleum) hydrotreated light, purity 100%"

Doesn't say anything else about what it contains. Do you think I will have a successful extraction using this solution? Or should I email the company and ask if I can get a more detailed description of what it contains?

Trevor thinks it should work okay based on the SDS information.
Hydrotreated light naphtha is what you want.

Trevor says you need to evap test on clean glass before using.
Do not use products that leave residue on evaporation.
It ends up in product.

Trevor knows of a certain "brand" of heptane and hexane that should work well.
Trevor says he has not vetted this supplier yet.
Likely to not ship outside the U.S. due to regulations on shipping hazardous materials.
But
These seem to be marketed as high purity for extraction use from a headshop-like "equipment" supplier.

Thanks man, sounds good enough to buy and do a evap test :)
