Wish I knew a guru

Guru simply means spiritual teacher.

I have learned a lot about my spirituality from others and thus I consider them my gurus.
I have learned a lot about my spirituality from personal meditation and thus I am my guru.
I have learned a lot about my spirituality from the world around me and thus I consider nature my guru.

I for one certainly believe in the Guru concept. I also believe that humans can reach enlightenment...though I admit to not having a fully definition that I like for enlightenment.

I believe people can reach enlightenment and by extension I believe some enlightened people can become teachers.

I don't believe in the blind Guru dogma of some hindu's. To me that is retarded....and quite the opposite of seeking for the truth.

Please let me try to answer your question. It's not that she doesn't want to know. I never said she doesn't listen. I said it's hard to explain the experience in a way that she understands. It's hard for me to communicate why I would want to under go some thing like this, in a manner that she gets. I get a lot of funny questions and funny looks, but never any understanding. Which makes it hard for me to even want to try and explain or share with her. When I said "I had to stop smoking around her." I meant for me it was easier to remove the funny looks I'd get, than it was to deal with them while I was coming down. I explained to her well enough that she was making me feel uncomfortable, by staring at me like my head was going to blow up. She did try to stop staring.

When we met, we both smoked weed and drank. We had no other drug use. We had talked about our drug past, but there was no mention of ever wanting to try other drugs again. She didn't even know what DMT was until I ordered some MHRB. I taught her as much as I could before I even started the extract.

Now if you were here and listening to me babble on about it you would be eating it up. At least I hope you would. It's kinda like trying to explain programming to some one that just bought their 1st computer, just to play games on, and then expecting them to write a reporting engine for a Network Ops Center that monitors a hundred thousand hosts. It's not their fault they can't do it or understand it. But if you talked to a developer they'd understand and have questions that helped the process. That is a very simple metaphor for the situation I find my self in.

Maybe with time, this will pass. I know that I will keep working on it. I hope that clears some of this up. I'll post more to the Nexus, about every thing related.

Sorry to hear your woman is not supportive nor understanding nor into it. The psychedlic experience is an awesome thing to share between lovers.


I'll also chime in on the guru bit--never met one that impressed me very much. I even humbled myself and tried. The psychedlic gurus whom I've met (2 of em) were the worst. Haven't been impressed with anyone selling "shamanism" neither. Now if we all lived in small communities, and had tribal medicine people, whom we knew and trusted, wasn't asking for money, and who had an entire tribe watching his/her moves, making sure they conducted themselves in a manner the tribe could support and especially if said shaman type also kicked in and help with mundane chores a bit, that would be another matter altogether. Many psychonaughts on this board would surely fit the role. In our insane society however, self proclaimed guru types always seem to fall into dogma, megalomania, greed--when the darkside is sold as Light, man, it's bad.
 
I really hope you all don't think she isn't any thing but supportive and understanding in every other aspect of our lives. We are in it for the long haul. She doesn't raise issues about DMT, nor does she start any drama. It's like I'm in the garage working with tools, building some thing, or any of my other hobbies. It's simply a non issue to her. That is more supportive than most governments. I imagine every one here at the Nexus, knows at least one person that would have problems with it.

I guess it does not really matter what we all think my friend. If you are both happy then all is perfect.

I really like your honesty , I wish you all the best my friend.

I have come to realise that the DMT experience is highly subjective and personal. I stopped boring my friends with my lame trip reports :p and will make use of online channels (like this here forum) if I feel the need to talk about it.

The experience is so profound that one tends to want to shout it out to the world though, but truth be told, it can be really boring for others - much like when people tell you about the weird dream they had last night.
