In your case, I imagine it just means more gunk will be extracted with DMT. Also mixing in the Xylene prevents the ability to freeze precip like mentioned above.
If you want to extract with two solvents, pull with each separately and keep them separate.

No. He has xylene mixed with his naptha, hence he won't be able to freeze precip because the xylene will keep it even at sub-zero temperatures. So, to get the DMT back to pure naptha he will have to salt it (add acid solution). The freebase will bond, seperate, then basify again, and extract with naptha. It's the only way to get rid of the xylene since distillation won't work. Bp xylene 138, Bp naptha 100-140.
