Have you ever had the flu injection, personally i have not.

You know how it is supposed to be, just collected flu virus from around the world.

Don't you think they are just speeding up the mutation of the influenza virus ten fold INTO something catastrophic.

I am no doctor but

Each year this virus hits me harder and harder.

I used to get the flu once a year. Since i stopped taking flu shots several years ago, i haven't gotten it once. Not sure if theres a correlation, but i'll be staying away from any of those regardless

I'm eligible for the flu shot cos I have asthma, but I never bother with it since I never get unwell. Haven't had so much as a tummy bug since I was under 10.

I never took flu shots, I thought only old people did that?

lol,

Allot of American society gets flu shots on an annual basis, actually.
Everyone in the armed forces gets them, most everyone in public safety and public medicine job field require it. Its offered in most or all public scools where I live.

not uncommon at all.

Interesting, I guess it's very country-specific thing. I've never heard of flu shots being so widespread with the normal healthy adult population. I mean, come on, it's a flu, not like some deadly air born ebola or something, let your immune system do some work by itself, no?

Unless of course you're in a certain risk group for some reason, then I would understand it.

I think you're underestimating the ability of the influenza virus' ability to evolve its binding proteins. it's an opportunistic pathogen, with much longer longevity/incubation periods than ebola. you just think of ebola viruses as dramatic because of their symptoms, they're actually very short-lived (~3 days), making pandemics highly improbable.

My thoughts are I don't take this crap. I'd rather wander around in the woods and eat medicinal mushrooms. Works for me.

Not sure how that would protect you from influenza, but from my understanding of mushrooms your basically poisoning your self so I guess your suggesting that builds your immune system? If that is what your saying I can agree with that, if not please explain

Psilocybin mushrooms are not poisonous.

polypore mushrooms definatily BOOST the immune system and are one of the best cancer medicines out there as well..

I dunno where you got the idea that medicinal polypore mushrooms(which are most of the medicinal mushrooms) are poisonous? There are no poisonous polypores as far as I know. I pick them wild all the time and boil them into soups and tea..Im fine. Anti viral, anti bacterial, anti cancer, anti fungal..There is a reason Stamets goes on and on about these mushrooms.

In reguards to flu shots? Heeeeeeellllll no. I dont get near those things.

So what are you actually saying, that it's good to take flu shots, that it's dangerous not to?

vaccines are weakened, non-pathogenic viruses...so your immune system can recognize and target structurally similar pathogenic viruses. it's optional, but a good idea to get them annually.

But if it was so important to take them, you would think all countries would be like USA that try to spread adult vaccination of it, and thats not the case.

I've been vaccined as a kid for the typical preventive things, and for yellow fever as a requirement for entering india some years ago. I've never found flu to be something to worry about. The fact that we are so constantly in contact with these virus are what make us more immune, unlike for example some indigenous people that can easily die from common flu.

I'm not worried about dying from common flu as a healthy adult. Sure it could mutate and suddenly spread, but a lot of other people would be dying before me because im at the moment around the peak of my health, and others arent. That's why I say, if you're in a high risk group, ok, but I can't see the need if you're not. Not worth the trouble and risks. Do as you please though

the most common influenza viruses are H1N1 and H3N2 strains, and even these "common flu" viruses can mutate into something that can make even a healthy person seriously ill. the "common flu" is a lot more serious than you think. you'll notice it more and more as time goes on. there is no cure for the "common flu". again, serious epidemics are much more likely to occur with the influenza virus than ebola viruses.

If it mutates, then that would render the vaccination with the non-mutated kind useless, or at least not more of use than the simple immunity-build with normal daily life/travel contact with the different strains, so what is the point?

you just reinforced my point that annual vaccines are a good idea.
I don't think you understand how the immune system works...simple immunity isn't simple at all. it's a recognition system for antigens.

O.K so Psilocybin mushrooms aren't poisonous, but are they toxic at normal doses?

If they are are they more so toxic than say Vitamin C?
Is vitamin C toxic at normal doses?

I read once that if you ate 10 grams or more of a Polar Bears liver you would DIE from vitamin-C overdose.

Everything has to be broken down and utilized and creates by products and free radicals?
Is everything toxic to some degree?

I know some of you guys know these facts all rolled in one HELP:)

No I didnt, I just said to me it doesnt seem to make sense for healthy adults if they are anyways in contact with it normally through other people each year. If you feel that needle is worth it, go for it, I wont at this point of my life ;)

you're making it seem like a healthy adult is immune to new strains. that's not necessarily the case. I personally don't get vaccines (too lazy), but I'm also not oblivious to the fact that I'm at risk. so are you.

biological viruses are like computer viruses. instead of using computer code, they use DNA/RNA code. their structural proteins allow them to bind cell receptors with ease, and inject their code to replicate. the antibodies can only respond if it recognizes the sequences of the binding proteins. thus, it's a good idea to update your definitions annually.
