Youtube - Shall we clear the air?

I've seen the great job many have done in flagging DMT videos on youtube, but was thinking what about salvia videos? Should we start tackling those? It's really disgusting to go through hundreds of videos of "LAWL 60X SAVLIA TRIP SO FUNNY" which only leads to the widespread of recreational use. Those who seek information on such powerful magical substances have more than enough resources to find valuable knowledge. What do the rest of you think...start flagging?

Not worth it...The public's finding out/found out about salvia. There's too many videos and too much exposure already. I feel like it's probably too little too late. News stories come through networks from time to time, there's already been both state and federal hearings on banning salvia i believe. It's still around for the time being, but it's already been identified. With spice we still have a chance to prevent it from becoming as widely talked about as salvia. There's also less early teens able to get their hands on spice and make such videos, for fairly obvious reasons.

Yes, but atleast do what is possible you know? There's been reports on DMT/ayahuasca yet those remain minimal. For example: one of the big problems with MDMA becomming legal for therapeutic use is that there is such a widespread belief that its a "teenage club drug". Less exposure of recreational use >>> less bashing + less recreational use. Even if it is minimal...atleast its something.

Sure, maybe, but is erasing a few youtube videos really going to minimize recreational use or bad publicity? I remember all the news coverage mdma got in the mid-90's, torpedoed without youtube. By all means, go ahead and flag youtube videos, it's a valiant effort. I just feel that it's akin to dumping a 5 gallon bucket of freshwater into the ocean, hoping to decrease salinity.

If you feel it's an effective means and can get people behind it, it may do something...Personally i feel we've already hit the tipping point for salvia in the public light and at this point, what will be will be. Granted, a huge negative or positive finding could completely tip the scales, so there may be some validity in flagging the most "over the top" videos.

this is primarily a dmt-afficionado board, so we typically flag dmt vids, not salvia.

if we see someone acting irresponsible with our favorite molecule, we flag them. it's as simple as that. several vids have been removed at the hands of our members, it's much more effective than a bucket of freshwater in the ocean.

oh yeah...and MDMA is very much a recreational drug at parties. DMT is not (and we feel strongly about that).

Yes, There has been a great job done on DMT, just throwing it out there that if someone comes across a salvia video to try and reduce what can be done. It's the little things that build up, and even though this is DMT oriented board, a lot of people here respect other powerful substances such as salvia. Just throwing this out there and thanks for all who help.
