A ketamine experience I still can’t fully explain

I went into the experience thinking I knew what to expect. I thought it would just be a strange mental state — something temporary, something I could describe afterwards with a few simple words.

I was wrong.

The first thing I noticed was how quickly my normal sense of time started to disappear. A few moments felt stretched out, like my mind was exploring a place where clocks didn't exist. It wasn't a dream, but it also didn't feel like ordinary reality.

The strangest part wasn't seeing unusual things. It was the feeling that my usual identity — my name, my worries, my daily thoughts — was becoming less important. It was like watching a character in a movie and suddenly realizing you had spent your entire life believing you were that character.

At one point, I had this overwhelming feeling that my mind was showing me something I already knew but had forgotten. Not a message from somewhere else, not some magical answer — just a different perspective on myself.

When it ended, the world looked completely normal. The room was the same. My life was the same. But my relationship with my own thoughts felt slightly different.

The hardest part is explaining it. If I say “it changed my perspective,” that sounds too simple. If I say “nothing happened,” that also feels wrong.

Has anyone else experienced a moment where something felt deeply meaningful, but afterwards you couldn't fully put it into words?

How much do you consume?

Sounds like a ketamine experience, yes. What you mention is common. I don't think you consumed it in excess (at least not that one time, based on the effects), as it sounds like a moderate experience.

Do you have previous experience with psychedelics or dissociatives?

If you have access to 200g, be careful. One of the main factors of addiction is having access to a large stash. Ketamine is not physically addictive but can be quite psychologically addictive. And frequent use may damage your bladder, in the worst case in an irreversible way. Take care.

I am aware of the effects, both in terms of psychological addiction and physical harm. When I mentioned having access to 200g, I didn't mean I consume it all myself; it gets used at parties or shared with friends who visit. I don't use it every day either—only when I need to (and I hope to keep it that way).

Well, with 15mg (insufflated) you can be sure it wasn't too much. K-hole doses get extremely weird and usually require more than 100mg. I can't really recommend them, they're intellectually interesting afterwards but ultimately feel empty to me. If you do venture into those dosages, be sure that you're somewhere physically safe where you can lie down, ideally with an empty stomach. You may already know this, but better safe than sorry.

A k-hole usually requieres between 150mg and 200mg for me. I only do it once a month maximum, and mostly out of intelectual curiosity about the kind of world that is shown through it. I avoid lower doses as I want to limit my use to once a month, and non k-hole doses aren't appealing to me.

Be safe, I've never had a problem with ketamine but something about it feels off to me.

Wow, I had that experience with 15mg, I can't imagine you with those doses.haha

Yea, 15mg doesnt normally register beyond a mild anxiolytic and very slight motor impairment.

But i have had many experiences like you described. Like i understand the full thread of human existence, social structure, or the loop of my father myself and my son. i've had the experience of melting into the earth decomposing then being reborn through embodying the mother and becoming the child, and many other similar experiences.
Those are merely the descriptions of the sensation. In each instance there was this profound sense of understanding so much more that faded as the experience itself wore off.

The first five or so sessions I would get really frustrated at the lack of recall until I realized the ketamine space is not a mine to retrieve gold from but rather a crucible where I refine myself into the gold I seek.
There are still times I wish I could remember an experience better for the novelty but this realization of refining has otherwise taken the pressure off and led to better integration.

How do you dose the 150 - 200 mg? In repeated smaller doses or all at once? Insufflated? I've never reached what I believe is a K-hole but find dissociatives really interesting and unique, but as you say mostly out of curiosity and the perspectives on the self that I can get.

I do it insufflated, in two doses about 10 minutes apart. So between 25 and 50mg per nostril. It took me a while to learn to dose it effectively, at first I got a lot of snot and dripping.

Yes, I agree they are quite interesting. My experiences are only with ketamine. I'd say my first 5-8 experiences were valuable because they presented me with an alternate vision of reality I couldn't have imagined. Now I want to further explore a k-hole in combination with 2C-B as I did once. It was much more interesting and a bit more meaningful, but still not even close to the value I get from even a mild psychedelic experience.
