Yes, I read the attitude and all that part when I signed up. I read the part where it says no extraction or synthesis topics will be tolerated, but that didn't make sense. Glancing at the site I see an entire forum dedicated to explicit chemical procedures. I take it the suggestion is just a tongue-in-cheek disclaimer to absolve the moderators' liability for such material?
I'm not trying to be a smart-ass, I'm just new to the site and have no idea what is tolerable and what is intolerable. It's obvious that people here know their restrictions well and try their best to maintain a semblance of credibility.
Is it that brand new posters can't start discussions on such subjects but fully-fledged members can?
If so, I apologize for starting a topic on the question of a melatonin synthesis and I hope I can work my way up to a higher rank soon.
It is also obvious from the responses I've gotten that people here are quite friendly, so thanks for that and I'll do my best to reciprocate.

no..synthing questions are NOT allowed period..extraction is a different story

That's what I forgot to include in this thread, whether the site makes a distinction between synthesis and extraction.

synthing requires chemicals that are watched and we dont want to have that sort of thing on here...its also much more dangerous and is better left to professional chemists...extraction is just pulling a chemical that is already in a plant and purifying it...much easier and safe for home chemists
