Then there is Bresson, and "The condemned has escaped" (can't remember what the English name is, but that is what it roughly translates to). Add to this Bergman's Wild Strawberries, and here is the highest triumvirate of films.
Yesterday we saw Mike Leigh's "Happy-go-lucky", and I recommend it heartily. It made me feel really good and a bit sad and thoughtful at the same time. The acting was so good, that it felt like no acting.

Bunuel is great too, and very mysterious one. Have you seen his "La Voie Lactee" (Milky way). Now there's a trippy one..
