Hey folks, I have been browsing these and other forums for the last 3 months or so for extraction TEK, smoking equipment, trip reports etc. In short, generally getting my head around this bizarre but amazing world of DMT.

I have done a few successful extractions of spice, and harmalas as well and have used them in various combinations, with varying degrees of success orally and smoked. My main problems are this:

1. Smoking spice without burning it is hard without something like a VG. Burned spice tastes terrible, is hard(er) on the lungs, and is wasteful.
2. I am a tight-ass and don't want to spend money on something I may have to throw away if I get an unfriendly knock on the door.
3. Glass is a no-go, too fragile. Brass gets too damn hot.

I had a trusty old Missouri Meerschaum laying around and had revelation!

-I take a few screens from the hardware store and mold them into baskets via a crude forming die made from two sockets: this is placed on a bed of ash in the pipe to catch any runoff as the spice vaporizes.

-take a few screens and cover the top of the pipe bowl via a brass swing-hinge lid to act as the heat diffuser.



I have only used this for about 10 breakthrough experiences thus far, but it seems to work pretty well. I have noticed that with regular ash-spice-leaf sandwich it takes approx 60mg to blast off and I have cut that down to about 40mg. Plus it's so Rube Goldberg... I laugh every time I use it.

Did you see this thread about the VG "alternative", some people sold the ceramic heat difuser separately, maybe you can incorporate for an even better design?
 
I missed that one, any improvements are very welcome. Now I can vape spice without burning it, but it takes good timing. Anything to decrease the learning curve is awesome.

I have been toying with the idea of doing away with the tobacco as a spice catch as well... But the taste of a good perique hit is a nice indicator that all available spice has been utilized. I dunno, I have a few copper pads under the sink that have been calling my name.
 
Very nice Cuttle i love it! SWIM used the buddie system at his house, He has a good friend hold the glass and light it. He just hits the DMT as meny time as he can before he launches to space. Holding a glass that is hot and fragile is very risky when alone and about to launch, Your corny looks like it would be handy for a solo journey. Good work!
 
Oh, I certainly do. I have the technique down enough to have open eye fractal madness before the exhale on the first hit about 95% of the time. That's with approx 40mg of spice or so. It just keeps getting better... The spice, not my crude/hilarious implement.

To me, there is something so...right about a goofy device like this: it opens doorways to the multiverse, yet looks like an accident, or junk. I think that may be my totem; objects that seem normal, but have occult capability when used properly.
 
I love this, think it looks wonderfully personalized. Seems like everyone should do something to their GVGs as well, to make them a little bit more their own.
