First dmt experience - introduction

There's also the possibility of various types of neuroreceptor polymorphism. I've a dopamine receptor variant which is strongly linked to autism and ADHD, for example - and there are those who have serotonin receptor variants that which lead to a reduced sensitivity towards serotonergic psychedelics, or it may be due to a reduced expression of a serotonin receptor gene causing a relatively lower density of the relevant serotonin receptor.

Food for thought at least - and having an atypical neuroreceptor profile can itself be traumatising through behavioral divergences.
Reading through your reply again makes makes me want to ask how do you know about your neuroreceptor profile is there a test of some kind for things like that? Forgive me if that's a dumb question 😆

There was one interesting part of my first dmt trip that I forgot to include in my report..

At one point I felt a bizarre pressure in my head... it felt very very localized, like my skull was made of rubber or something and someone's finger was poking from the inside stretching out one point of the rubber.. it came from the top of my head and then one side or the other..truly the strangest physical sensation I've ever felt. But it didn't scare me because I instantly remembered hearing that guy describing the same thing years before

It reminded me of the spirit molecule documentary that id seen 15 years or so earlier where one guy said he felt that pressure in the center of his forehead before he experienced what is colloquially known as breakthrough.

So the question is, did i experience that sensation because id seen it in a documentary even though i wasn't consciously aware of that memory before my trip?

That's kinda what scares me about dmt, either what's happening is some kind of phenomena unknown to science or it can cause things from your mind to manifest even if you have no idea they are in there.. or maybe both.

I like to think there's nothing hiding inside my own mind that can cause me real trauma but every once in a while something happens that gives me my doubts. Like a nightmare I don't remember that apparently terrified me awake 😅

All I know is the idea of an OBE type of trip still scares me a bit if I'm being really honest with myself, which is why in all honesty I'm sincerely glad my first trip was not like that. .

It's like the dmt decided to teach me the meaning of the word "intensity" before getting to the real lessons lol

I'm about as square as it gets when it comes to believing in the supernatural but i can also completely understand why people are so quick to anthropomorphisze dmt and attribute it with supernatural power. It's heavy stuff

I remember wondering is this the "oneness" people talk about? Simultaneously crushed by and spread evenly across, reality itself.. lol I closed my eyes and it was like I was seeing those red and yellow pillars they show in the artwork and I felt like reality around me was trying smear me across itself lol now that was quite intense.

But it didn't feel "more real than reality" it felt to me personally like a drug induced illusion. To be blunt. That's something I've only heard people say very rarely

Speaking of OBEs though got me thinking about sleep paralysis maybe I should start a thread for those experiences if there isn't one already, I've had some interesting ones that include things I've never heard another person mention.. and one or two things that make me again question how much of it is in my head and how much may not be

I've heard people talk about memory palaces and memory warehouses and such, wherein all their memories are neatly organized as objects they can examine and sort through.

Not me.. my memory does not work like that 😂when I heard of that idea I tried thinking about it for about 5 minutes and realized better or worse that ain't me

My memory is more like the ocean. Or some presumably much smaller body of water 🤣 but every molecule of water is information. When i need something i walk down to the beach and reach into the surf and there it is, right there washed up and ready to go... mostly 🤣

I like to joke yeah my memory is photographic but all the photos are blurry and the dates are mixed up
