what a feeling seeing the first pinheads!

this is a 250 cc small grow kit of Golden Teachers.

just followed the very simple instructions provided.

currently it's day 12, there are 3 clear pinheads, and it seems like more are about to pop out.

the instructions said it'll take 10 to 20 days for all the heads to come out.

current routine - once a day, in the morning
1. open the bag and ventilate for about two minutes
2. mist the inside walls of the plastic bag with lukewarm water

anything else i should do?

i'd take care not to mist the top layer or let it dry either because the quality of pin sets you will get depends on how untouched and healthy that fragile top layer stays during the fruiting period etc, and when harvesting i'd try to cut or spin the fruits in a very gentle way to avoid disrupting the layer

i'm using a piece of kitchen paper to try and protect the top layer from the mist, not the best and most precise solution tho.

what if instead of misting i just put a wet piece of cloth inside (next to the cake), or a small cup of water?

wet cloth is not a bad idea unless it grows mold, but using paper to prevent mist from settling on top of it is a great idea, also you could maybe put hydrated perlite or something below the kit in your bag to maintain moisture etc

What i have found to work well is put cakes in a container of some kind with wet coco coir. You hydrate and pasteurize at the same time by placing a coco brick and 4.25x the weight of the coco in plain boiling water inside a bucket with the lid on. Once it cools down you can place it in around the cakes it will maintain the perfect humidity and it's very difficult for mold and things to grow in it.

You can also do what they call a "water tub" and place the cake on like a baking rack inside a container with a bit of water sitting in the bottom under but not touching the cake.

Ime the coco is the better way to go if you happen to have some
