Free lab test for your (garden or local) plants !!! Interested??

thanks for offering this. Is there a list with the results available?
I am struggleing with sourcing plant material for extraction due to customs and would be delighted to find some local alternatives.

If you can do extracts on local plants sustainably or grow them and extract, post here and we´ll get it tested.

I'm planning a comparison of alkaloid content of degrafted Lophophora on own roots for 2 years vs specimens still grafted onto E. pachanoi. I'm aiming to have 20-40 crowns total. For statistical rigor I want to analyze each crown individually (all stock comes from the same mother Peyote plant). Is the testing lab willing to carry out 20-40 individual analysis runs? I know this isn't cheap, but pooling the extracts from each growing method will give less rigorous results. I haven't been able to find any hard results online about this, but I started grafting and re-grafting 7 years ago after having a chat with The Travellor at EGA in preparation for this, amd now feel that I have enough crowns to start the degrafting process once things warm up a bit more around here. It'd be great to get some hard data on this! It'll be a couple of years until I harvest the material.

Sad news.. Unfortunately I am not working at the lab anymore so I cannot perform analysis anymore.

Maybe if one day some angel investor wants to purchase an analytical instrument for us, I could host it and test stuff for everyone, but right now that is not a reality...

Yeah friend, it was quite sad.. No I did not get decent conditions, will have to fight in court for it because of the unfair and illegal treatment I received.

As for plans for the future, I'm trying to find opportunities, but haven't found anything so far.. In the meantime will start teaching jiu jitsu locally to get a little bit of income, and see if this can grow and/or if I find something else... Wish me luck

That's disappointing to hear...I was expecting more from Kykeon, but at the end of the day, it's a business, and we all know how little morals seem to matter in the business world. I really hope the lawsuit reaches a conclusion that is favorable for you.

Hello everybody!

I've been somewhat away from the Nexus lately since I've been so busy, but definitely still here and willing to put more energy into the science and testing side of the Nexus.

The Nexus team is offering an open invitation to all Nexus members who want to test plants for alkaloids, to write here what they want to test, and I will get them free LC-MS/FTIR/NMR lab testing for their plants.

The conditions to participate are:

1- The plants must be either wild/local or grown by the member (from seed or cutting doesnt matter), no store-bought dry ethnobotanicals.

2- They must be suspected to contain a natural psychedelic or related compounds, such as NMT/DMT/5-MeO-DMT/bufotenine/Harmala/Mescaline/salvinorin/LSA/etc

3- The tests will be done on extracts, not on plant material itself, so you'll have to do a small extract. The amount needed for analysis is very small, 10-20mg is plenty, so you can do it in a small amount of the plant material. A propper STB or A/B extract is great but if that's not possible, at least a crude extract like alcoholic extract or something of the sort, is good enough.

4- No destructive harvesting!! Please take care of plants and harvest small amounts sustainably.

5- Notes must be taken: Quantity of starting material vs quantity of extract, conditions of growth, season of harvest, info on local climate, pictures of plant etc..

6- A minimum of 2 samples must be sent at once, comparing some variable (extraction method, solvent used, condition of growth, specimens, whatever)


Whoever is interested please post here and write what plant(s) you want to test, and I will arrange for the lab testing to happen. Dont worry you wont have to give any personal info, it will be done anonymously.
