SWIM has just done an extraction, and isolated the spice by freeze precip, followed by pouring the naphtha through a coffee filter (there were loose crystals). Most of the spice was left in the jar, and SWIM wanted to take pics of it...while SWIM's camera was charging, a lot of the spice melted back into the naphtha. SWIM figured it couldn't do much harm, so they decided to leave it over night to evaporate. Now SWIM is left with a viscous white paste in the bottom of the jar.
Just wondering if there would be any adverse effects (aside from excessive dmt-oxide) from letting the solution evaporate like this. Also, SWIM was thinking about just letting the entire amount of solvent evaporate next time, so that they were left with chunkier rocks, rather than powdery crystals. Would this be a bad idea?
