My friend and I both have an Orbit. I don’t use mine. I find it inconsistent and difficult to gauge, and I wasted a lot of spice with it. He likes his a lot and still uses it. What he does is add literally a drop of PG to the Orbit with his spice. And don’t put in those little marbles. You definitely don’t want to do that.
I’ve been making my own carts for a while, and we do the extraction ourselves. I put 700 milligrams of spice into a shot glass immersed in recently boiled water so it gets hot. Leave wnough space to not get any water in the shot glass, of couse. Then I add 0.3 milliliters of PG, maybe 0.35. I use a flat, glass-tipped syringe to take the PG out of the bottle and add it to the shot glass. Then I mix it around until all of the spice is dissolved. I add nothing, but I do looooove the taste!
I suck it up with the syringe. I have a little rack to hold the carts, so I unscrew the cart, slowly fill it, and let it wick in a little. That usually gives you room to add a bit more. You want to fill it almost right up to the top. While it’s still hot, screw the cap on nice and tight, and then I just let it sit there.
Before filling it, I weigh the cart completely empty and log that weight. Once it’s filled, I weigh the complete full cart and log that too. I identify the cart by batch, extract # and pull# (B2X3P1)with a Sharpie. I take a Pic for the color and log that.
Sometimes I’ll take a test puff about 10 minutes later just to make sure everything’s okay. I try and completely finish them to get a good end weight for the log. I log every session by timw puffed at what voltage and kepo a running log.
Any tiny left over in the syringe goes in the changa pot. But its rare. im usually pretty spot on.
