Using psychedelics as a healing agent seems to be on a high rise as of late. When one person contemplates this specific route, they should consider various elements in indicating wither one person is ready to turn their traumatic life over to start the healing process. Common rule of thumb I've been told long ago is that depression and psychedelics do not match. It's one thing if the person's psyche is in a state to embrace the positive light to overcome their issues; but relying on a substance to break the shell is pretty far fetch, let alone dangerous since there too many inconsistent factors that play a role in a depressed state of mind. The substance should be used to enhance, not to change current conditions drastically. If one is looking for a drastic change, they should look up a professional that keeps a tight record of being able to help people in similar conditions. The whole experience (although I do commend you for trying to make a difference) seems forced. I agree with the others when they recommend preparing the person for the journey in the beginning. The circumstances stated showed that the emotional luggage the person wants to shed had been carried for years, and to change something that's been going on for years in one persons mind takes lots of preparation, effort, embracing and then transforming to turn around. Psychedelics simply aren't a miracle cure and can cause harm if one treats it as such. If the person in question is still willing to forgo new change, I highly recommend seeking professional counseling of the issue at hand before attempting further actions. Best regards.
