I am not new to psylocibin. About 27 years ago, I experimented wildly with psychedelic mushrooms (can’t remember the varieties, this was late nineties).

The first thing the shrooms did for me was evaporate a rampant coke addiction overnight.

The second thing happened one evening when I had taken another very high dose. As my mind was working through all sorts of topics, all of a sudden my personal life journey came into view. I knew who I was, why I was who I was and how I became to be who I was. I understood my mother’s role in my life and forgave her for things that happened in the past.

And it was an amazing process. It was like a super saturated salt solution, which is clear and doesn’t contain any structure. If you then ‘seed’ it with a small grain of salt, the whole solution will instantaneously crystallize and beautiful structures will appear. Thát’s what it felt like.

I didn’t really go back to shrooms after that and the ‘turnaround ‘ of my perspective on myself lasts until today.

Then, a few months ago, I tried Psylobe Tameplandia truffles (Philosopher’s stone). I chewed 25 grams of fresh truffle and that was a very nice experience. I was with a friend and we had fascinating conversations. It was potent but not overwhelming and produced beautiful visuals.

I then tried this again by myself, intending to go deeper. Chewed 25 grams and was so violently sick I feared my stomach might sustain damage. I shivered and felt completely blown off my socks. It was very powerful but far from nice.

I tried eating dried truffle. Even more disgusting and equally unpleasant.

So I then tried to make a tea with dried truffles. No effect to speak of.

Recently I tried chewing truffles again and immediately threw up. And violently so too. This was 15 grams of a less strong variety but the effect was equally disastrous.

I then made a tea with the remaining 30 grams I had.

Method:
- chop the truffles as fine as you can
- heat some water to 90C°.
- put truffles in a tea strainer, cover with the hot water
- steep for 20 minutes
- add a teaspoon of lime juice and a teaspoon of sweetener (I use strawberry syrup or regular cane sugar syrup)
- drink a a pace you like

This was quite potent but not as visual as what I had experienced chewing the truffles.

So now I have 100 grams of High Hawaiians (P. Tameplandia or philosopher’s stone) and intend to make a tea.

1st thing I’ll do is to add a bit of lime juice to the hot water. Lowering the pH to 5-6 (mildly acidic) helps the extraction.

2nd thing is to steep the tea longer, for 30 minutes, but spread over 3 times ten minutes. The reason for this is the extraction gradient. Liquid around the truffles particles will get saturated, slowing the extraction rate. (The same reason why washing a laboratory beaker with distilled water is more efficient with 3x10ml than with 30ml).

Does anybody have any tips, suggestions and/or experiences?

I would add. Drink and eat the truffels. They’re even tastier afterward.
There are a lot of goodies left in them.

Sounds like you really like the taste ☺️. I did in the beginning but now even the smell makes me nauseous. I’ll give it a whirl though 🤞

No, the point is that the flavor of truffles steeped in boiling water is quite different from that of fresh ones. Fresh truffles taste rather unpleasant and metalic, but after steeping they become nutty and delicate.
There is a lot of psilocybin left in them too.

Aah! Best of both worlds. So you don’t really chop the truffles to finely, steep them in hot water, that’s your tea, and then also eat the truffles. I hope-guess steeping them will also lessen the gastro-intestinal discomfort and the nausea.

As an update: NEVER buy truffles directly from a shop in the Netherlands. They don’t all keep their truffles in optimal condition condition. The ones bought had completely degraded and contained virtually zero psylocibin.

Thanks a lot for the tip DM3!
