[IMPORTANT] No buying/selling/procuring, why?

I am bumping this since lately I see several posts a day where people talk about buying/selling/sourcing in some form, this highly disappoints me.

This post is a reminder to all that this is not allowed in any way possible. You just HAVE your substance and you CANNOT talk about it in any way how you got that.

No discussion on selling, buying, sourcing, acquiring, pricing, trading, mentioning pending deliveries or smuggling of drugs


SUSPEND ON SIGHT

Due to this now regular breaking of this important rule I am forced to suspend anyone who breaks this rule to make sure this will not get out of hand.

There is no excuse for not being aware about this rule. If you are a full member then you should know this for a long time and as a new member the message of not buying/selling/sourcing is clearly shown with each post you make.

I feel really bad that I have to enforce this. :thumb_dow

Sorry for the noob question, but does this also apply to purchasing substances online that are legal in most places? E.g., something like Caapi Copy? I saw discussion that trading amongst members is not allowed.

I ask because there is one such product that it would be a shame not to share information about.

Harmala alkaloids & plants are illegal in several countries. France, Canada, Belgium, & I believe a few others.

Considering this forum has members around the world I assume it is against the rules.

As a general rule of thumb the only sourcing talk you should consider safe is live plants & seeds from legal plants & even then only in the appropriate subforum where the information & discussion is safe from google indexing.

various clear points have been made on this in this thread

the DMT Nexus policy of no buying/selling (personal use only) is more than just a major safeguard for users of the site against legal penalities,
and more than part of harm minimisation (as Snozzleberry pointed out earlier in the thread), as people do not know the safety of unknown substances, and commercialism has already damaged some plant species,
it is also a significant ethical purpose of attitude..

as i see it, the commodification of DMT is the beginning of the end for the hope that this molecule may shine some light or insight in the world..
whether it is seen scientifically (secularly) as an important tool for mind research with therapeutic applications, or as a means to spiritual insight (a sacrament for some), or as simply the great 'mystery', making it a commodity goes against the very kinds of reasons given by many of it's enthusiasts for it's suggested use..

i won't go into all the various harms that can come out of sale and marketing of DMT to the public - i would ask that people simply use some intelligence, and heart..

This actually serves as a great reminder to be much more mindful of my speech in my posts.

I do my best to adhere to the norms of the site, and can assure you any violations of those norms or near violations of those norms on my part is unintentional. I understand that intentional or not it's my responsibility to be mindful of the content of my posts, which is why a review here seems in order, I may have been fairly unmindful in recent posts, and will seek to correct this.

Trav maybe more strict moderation around this specific rule is in need.
There are some very good points made here & yet still I frequently see posts that have to be edited by mods, often times from the very same people, most of them newer members.

I think some people fail to realize the seriousness of this issue & blatantly disregard the rule, sometimes even going as far as attempting to come up with what they think are slick ways around this rule (watermarked images, wordplay, mentioning keywords, etc.).

Primarily for new members

If words or phrases like 'it was cheap', 'it was expensive', etc, or any sort of talk that skirts around the main bit like this - there's no need to use these phrases when talking about something you might have.

If you have something in your possession, all you have to say is "I have 'x' and I was wondering...etc..etc".

There's no need to throw in "I bought", "I procured", "X was cheap", "X was expensive", "I got X from x-company".
 
I was just curious as to why only buying/selling? The act of extracting is illegal as well. But that is allowed to be spoken about freely. Now I’m not saying I want that changed. At all. But I’m “that guy” that always plays devils advocate. Gnome Saiyan?

I suppose there's a legal issue. There probably is a difference between talking about an illegal activity, such as smoking or extracting spice, contra an illegal activity that happens on the forum, with the forum as an actual marketplace. I reckon the latter will have consequences.

So please people, understand that we don't have these rules to annoy you, we have these rules to make sure we will stay and keep helping you with providing a platform to discuss DMT and other entheogens.

Talking won’t cause any alarm... but buying and selling pretty much would turn the nexus into an online drug trafficking ring.... this, would most certainly draw some eyes and turn the nexus into a target for ambitious law enforcement agents looking to make a name for themselves by taking down an international organization responsible for the Mass buying and selling of a scheduled 1 drug. so ... we follow travs rules and our organization will stay safe and whole. go nexus :thumb_up:
 
I want to elaborate a bit on why we provide teks for the extraction of scheduled substances here. It really boils down to two words: Harm Reduction.

People want to try DMT and other psychedelics, that's not gonna change any time soon. Many people look to illicit sources which creates a profit and criminal motive attracting law enforcement and fear mongering media attention, this is not something we want to support in any way shape or form, hence the restrictions against buying/selling talk. This also means the consumer doesn't know really what they are getting or where it comes from, adding a level of medical risk on top of the criminal risk of drug distribution.

Others will realize that they can extract their own, but they do minimal research and follow poor quality teks that they don't really understand which inevitably puts them and those around them at risk. Check the news section, there are more than a few incidents where "DMT lab" accidents made the media after people nearly burned down their residences acting foolishly.

So we provide accurate information and ongoing support to assist those who choose to explore these substances to do so in a safe and well informed manner. We encourage self sufficiency and respectful, responsible use as a "best practices" path to get the most benefit from these explorations. Many thousands of people have safely, responsibly, and discreetly grown and extracted their own psychedelics with the information and guidance provided by this community, and that, imo, is pretty cool. 8)

Like I said, have no problems with any rules here. I just didn’t get the difference of which illegal stuff was ok to talk about. One is to protect us and one is to protect this place. 🤙
