Impulse Experiences: Ongoing Compilation

Migrated topic.

I like this song, but it may be the masochist in me, as I have smoalked changa and cannahuasca quite a bit to this song, and it f's with me every time.

I've smoked a lot to this album, and I skip this particular track most of the times. I don't know what is it, but It messes with me as well. And I might be a little less masochist than you are.

I like the track, I really like it. But I don't know, there's something dark about it that gets me every time, and I don't enjoy it while under the influence. Unlike the rest of the album, which I think is very enjoyable and peaceful.

It's bad, but until someone else sympathizes and shares in a similar experience I tend to think it's something wrong with me, lmao. It gets real dark. I remember attempting to smoalk changa in a GVG. This song sent me flying to the bathroom to purge. There's something going on in this song and I don't know what. I think my music professor friend will be able to break it down to explain why it has such an effect. I think, like East Forest, that Iyakuh did whatever he did in this song on purpose.

You guys must have steel nerves. Some songs aren't meant to be used.
Our system under the influence is like a hi-def recorder.
Better play something harmonic through it.

I can't help it. While inhibited, I am nuts. And I certainly don't have steel nerves, or at least I don't think I do lmao

I've left choice of music up to Amazon, asking it to "Play Meditation music" for a while now, this avoids having to choose or try different music.

Whatever it is it has to be calming, though I've tried long-form forest or jungle recordings and they kinda did my head in, Nature's ambience is one thing but hearing a recording of it while on DMT felt disjointed.
This piece at 30mins in has so far matched the space best for me -

I forgot how nice the 1:1:1 blend can be. My system usually has a little bit of trepidation because the anticipation during the onset can really get to me. There's a very specific speed that my system is naturally comfortable with. The breadth of which is pretty narrow. However, because I've shed and let go of a lot, actively deepening without reservations, things are a bit easier.

I decided to take this little foray in silence and rejuvenate my body with a little bit of yoga, only having the air conditioning unit and breath as the ambient sounds in the room. Eyes closed, listening to my body and doing what felt good, the experience was peaceful. Soaking up the benefits of the anti-inflammatory effects, I feel much more grounded and sound. It's been a hell of a week and it's not over, as I am in the DMT space 2 more times before Sunday. I am glad I have the relationship I do with the medicine such that it rarely destabilizes me and I can use it as a way to process dross and clear my system.

I should say part of that again, and keep it in mind and spirit of how often I be shmoalkin: It rarely destabilizes me. Good little note to self, don't ya think?

Changa really does help me stay on point. Drained, braing fogged, with heavy fatigue? Shmoalk a little. For example, I feel like my coordination has faltered a bit, which is shown when I type. There is definitely more tension in my left side body than right. After smoalking, typing is often so much easier, not only physically through the act of typing and typing fluidly, but mentally as well, where my mind is also operating in a fluid state.

Could this be why I felt very analytical on my first Changa experience, it felt fluid and easy, no hints of 'grinding the gears' so to speak. It felt like I was taking technical notes in a science experiment or class.

Makes me think, where do streams of thought originate, is it really centered in the grey undulating mush in our skull, is the origination of an idea all based on experience or just supported by it? I'm guessing there is no upper limit to the amount a human can learn so I'm not convinced we store everything locally

At first when I read this I forgot that this isn't the changa musings thread. 🤣

All these DMT/changa threads are inspirational. Last time I used changa, my living environment and mental state were far from perfect. Conditions have changed, and I suspect that I'd get quite a different result. Not that I have any bad memories, but I couldn't get as intimate as I wanted back then. Right now, I'm mostly interested in psilohuasca and changa on top of a few grams of rue. Having access to changa may lead to some impulse experiences for me too. Anyhow, my bias against smoking has started to lift a bit.
Life is too fleeting to play it safe all the time.

I'm finding I can get used to the idea of smoking via Changa but the resultant feeling of being filled with dirty smoke with the further results being coughing for a week show me that breathing smoke is generally bad for us.
What might be an interesting place to start would be looking at herbs that do not create much smoke when they burn so folks that don't want to breath smoke have a means to limit it.

I've smoked my share of cannabis, harmalas, and a bit of changa. The conclusion I came to is that lungs are to be kept clean for pure, fresh air. However, a strong mix of changa a few times a month should not pose such a big threat. Many people live in polluted cities their whole lives and breathe smog all the time. What I'm trying to say is that you need to weigh the benefits against the potential dangers. No one lives forever, and in this age we all have pollutants in us (like plastics for example). It's not about how long you're going to live, but about how you will live. I prefer quality over quantity. That said, we should surely minimize the health impact as much as possible.

Yeah, I realise the occasional bowl of Changa shouldn't have any more impact on me than sitting in a room with incense burning.
