Hi,

I'm having real trouble taking DMT. I've went through about a gram and only experienced some mild psychedelic effects. The trouble is, I have real trouble inhaling and holding it in. I've never smoked anything, and the DMT vapor is so harsh my lungs just can't handle it. It's really frustrating as I've wanted so long to experience the DMT realm

I'm using a glass sherlock vaporgenie. My technique is, hold the lighter to the opening of the pipe, so the flame is just licking the top of the glass. Slowly inhale. I begin to notice some harsh vapor, then I see the DMT melt and the chamber fills up with a white smoke. I immediately inhale it all - at this point I usually splutter it out and begin a coughing fit. Sometimes, I have held it in just barely and experienced mild psychedelic effects. What's strange, even when I really load up the pipe with 100mg+, It all melts and disappears and I think I've inhaled most of it, but I still don't experience much. This has been the case with several different batches of DMT from several different sources, including my own extraction.

Any help greatly appreciated.

theres could be a few reasons....

1 way to much heat being applied and its burning your DMT, what lighter are you using?
2 dodgy DMT, are you sure your product is clean
3 using screens and not a copper disc meaning all you DMT drips through into the GVG. Can you see leaked DMT in the curve?

when you get it right with a GVG it should be smooth vapour and EPIC effects from 20-50mg

Changa or enhanced leaf... in my opinion.. is incredibly smooth if used with the proper herb/s and pretty much fail-proof when wanting to have a solid experience and/or breakthrough.

I'm with Tattvamasi here. Either go for changa or smoke from a bong on a bed of mixed herbs. I use mint for a herb sandwich and that works pretty good. The mint is REALLY smooth on your throat. I do it like this:

Place 2 or 3 screens snuggly fit together into the chillum and place on those of that a thin layer of mint(or other herb), measure your DMT and drop it on top of the herbs and place another layer of herbs over it. Light it with either a torch or BIC lighter but only use the flame to set a corner of the leafs on fire. Slowly drag to keep the herbs burning without applying the lighter(if it goes out, re-ignite) and once the bong is full, empty the chamber and put the bong away.

It takes a bit of practice. If you can't get over smoking anything I advice you to buy a bong and smoke some hash/weed from it to get the hang of it. On top of that: cannabis gives a nice high if smoked pure.

My changa leaf mix is close to 2/3 mullein...and the rest blue lotus.

Mullein is an amazingly smooth herb.

Yes there is a significant amount of DMT melting through the screens, even when I use 6 screens or more. Where can I get a copper disc? or is it something I have to make?

I will read up on changa as anything that makes the vapour less harsh is a good idea.

You make the copper disk from a pure copper scrubber like chor boy...make sure it doesn't say copper coated on the package. Thats no good for you.

In my opinion, 100mg in a gvg would be extremely gnarly, (in a way I am sure I can not comprehend) if ones vaping technique is correct. I have never gone past 52mg and then only once, wow. It is definitely not 35mg. All that to say barring the "dodgy" dmt, it sounds like it would be your technique. From your description I would say the flame licking the glass is about 3cm too close. I start out with the flame 2-3 cm away from the glass, when vapor starts forming I vasilate between 3-4 cm as needed until I see enough vapor to fill me up, (maybe anbout 9-10 seconds of low steady drawing in) then continue inhaling without the flame (maybe another 3-5 seconds), hold for 15 seconds, exhale, couple calm breaths, repeat twice if you can. The vapor to me and all who have travelled with me using this technique (GVG, 6 screens, 3-4mm copper disk, Blazer PB207 torch lighter) is not offensive at all. It has always to me been pleasant and not too difficult to hold in. Effects are felt starting around the initial maybe 6 second mark. Second draw things are definitely happening, third is usually difficult to perform all the steps. Yes I smoke ganga, hashish, honey oil, but I do not consider myself to have iron lungs, the vapor just seems mild. 30mg this way has always worked every time. I like 40-45 usually. 50's are really another matter altogether.

Before I used ^^this^^ technique, I used mullein bed, spice on top. Worked very nice. Was advised here to try plain spice, found it much more nice. Using just six screens. Noticed definite bleed through, however. With the addition of the copper scrubber, bleedthrough continues but much less, and I believe some obviously has to to have always been from condensation as well. With the torch at the heights talked about above I notice significantly less (alomost no) browning of the material coming into the genie even after many many many uses between 99%ipa cleanings.

If I draw too hard or too fast bleed through is more noticable as well.

The Glass Genie works flawlessly everytime as long as you find your technique, whichever way you find to make it work for you. Once you get it, you'll be like, oh, that was easy. And you'll repeat it each time more easily.

I've been using an ordinary lighter. Just a simple old flame. I notice you say you use a torch lighter? I've read that they should be used on a glass VG as they can crack the glass?

Any advice on that?

Hi Z, I bought the VG lighter as well just to see what they recommend, and it is not a tourch/jet type, it just allows you to have a long flame.
I also was amazed at how 'little' heat is required with the GVG, remember you want vapour and not smoke.... If you are used to smoking weed from a bong its not the same technique. Try using less heat with say 30mg, at first you will think that it is not happening as the vapour is so smooth, then hold what you think you havn't inhaled as long as you can, lay back and exhale slowly...... Please report back brother, if you have any doubt and I will do you a short video if you want. By the way, I'm no expert on 'correct' technique, since I got it right only recently, I am an expert on 'not' doing it right. In the words of Thomas Edison "I failed my way to success"....:thumb_up:

I added my own home made screen of ribbon type stainless pot scrubber. See here
Warming the scrubber 'before' you add your DMT helps to distribute the DMT over the surface of the scrubber, then gently heat with the ceramic top on while you inhale....

Forgot you're in the UK, you can get that torch that a lot of folks love I forget what it's called, but search the GVG threads (the ARC is it's name).

You will crack the glass top if the flame is put directly to it. Hence the keeping 2-4 cm away. It takes a couple seconds for the vapor to appear, I reckon the spice is achieving the correct temp up until that point. But as soon as it does, back the flame a cm or so and keep going. Remember to stop the flame before your lungs are full because you still have to clear the chamber. Also I forgot to add the little premelt stage after I load the spice in to the description above.

After I add my spice and put the cap on the genie, I put the torch about 3 cm away and draw through the stone for like 3-4 seconds....just till the spice melts into the copper...then I wait a little bit, breathe a little...getting ready...then I do the steps described in the oter post.

Sometime when there's a group of us I'll weigh out the doses and after each person launches just add the premeasured dose. It melts in right away at that point. No need for pre heating.

Hey Guys,

I switched to a torch lighter and the difference has been incredible!!! I took my first toke and never coughed once! The vapour is so much easier to inhaled, so I must have been burning the DMT before with the bic lighter. I still havent broken through but my last experience was quite pleasant. I spent 5 minutes staring at the skin on my hand. It was as if I could see every molecule moving and breathing.

There is still quite a bit of DMT dripping down into the pipe, and I think that's stopping me from having a breakthrough. Also, I'm on happy pills and Seroquel for insomnia, so I probably need quite a bit more DMT to breakthrough than most, if it's possible at all being on an anti-psychotic.

are you sure DMT is safe to combine with your medicine? i would ask corpus callosum or someone knowledgeable before trying something potentially hazardous to your health.

Well guys, I had a pretty intense experience and I never even broke through. I used a Chore boy along with 6 screens. Nothing went to waste, I took it all. After about 10 seconds I left my body. My limbs went like lead, my breathing was laboured, I felt like I could taste the copper and began spitting and spewing all over myself.

I had incredible CEV. Dots forming intricate patterns and spinning and flowing. I opened my eyes and had the nexus on the screen. The screen became boxes, stacked on top of each other with amazing colour. I got the feeling that I was witnessing some incredible future technology but my brain was unable to comprehend it - like a caveman trying to understand a modern computer. I also 'sensed' but did not see or hear a presence. When it was over I was laughing and almost crying, like I had experienced something so profound that my perception would never be the same again. I felt like I had experienced another dimension.

Amazing stuff guys. Absolutely amazing.

Zed - did you burn off the coating on the chore boy metal mesh? You have to do that if you didnt already. It should glow red and burn off the oils and coatings that are harmful, but are ok once burnt off.
