Rising Star
Hi all,
First off I'd like to mention that I have never delved into the dmt realm, although I have read extensively about the subject here and there. I stumbled across this site some time ago looking to amass more knowledge in the area of ethnobotany and the connections between the human mind and the natural world. The ways in which the latter unlock the former to experiences and sensations otherworldly in scope is something I am in truly in awe of. In regards to that I must mention that with the help of injesting mescaline containing cacti and Psilocybe's amongst other things I have gotten a taste.
The real kicker in my interest in this area of what I consider science (graduating with a degree in Biology this winter) are the teachings of Terrence McKenna. One tenant that sticks out in my mind is something he lays out extensively in his book Food of the Gods and various lectures, the idea of the Psilocin and Psilocybin containing mushrooms catapulting our early ancestors from the brutish realm into something more sophisticated. According to McKenna, due to climatic change when our predecessors left the trees and jungles of Africa out onto the great plains something magical happened. In this place full of ungulates (like cows) their fecal matter as we know very well provided the preferred medium for fungi growth. One of these early humanoids, simple in mind as a species hardwired to eat and reproduce had to accidentally ingest a psychedelic mushroom at some point (lucky for him it wasn't a deadly one first). You could only imagine what ego loss and a sense of empathy for his peers (and lets admit 'tripping balls') would have done for an animal with a large brain and the capacity to learn. The euphoria of the experience in my mind would be enough that it would be then be commonplace for at least some of early humans to continue to eat that certain type of mushroom and pass the practice on through the generations. It would never be the same and this in my mind was the catalyst for what we are today, super-primates.
Anyhow I love learning more about the connection between the human mind and nature and this site certainly delivers quite a bit of knowledge from some pretty informed folks.
Might as well bring this one up, two nights ago I ingested 50 Voacanga africana seeds as an Iboga alkaloid containing dream catalyst about an hour before bed and hey guess what? I'm pretty sure I ran into some kind of entity. During an incredibly visual aware like dream state I remember vividly seeing a horse in a barn stall and after turning my head and looking back I saw something that I could draw to a tee if I had to. In the horses place floated a cylindrical blueish green creature with huge black eyes that I sensed as ancient and from a different place than my own. It wasn't scary but I had the feeling in the dream that is still palpable now as I write this that I was looking at a ghost from another dimension. Best way I could describe the experience honestly was looking an alien straight in the eye all the while with a sense of reassurance that what I was seeing was not truly all that foreign, like we had been acquainted some time ago...
...Hope to meet a few more
