Of course Burnt, who has admitted he is financially dependent on the petrochemical industry, will say, "Petrol is natural!"

And I know he (and most folks, and probably even most members here) will laugh at and disagree with my next statement:

Petrol is not natural, it's not from decayed dinosaurs, it's a toxic substance from a planet which crashed into ours long ago.

Ya, why are you posting the same thing in multiple threads? While I find your posts, errrm, interesting and amusing, I do not need to see duplicates of them plastered all over the nexus, especially when they contain very little salient information.

What?..if by manipulated you mean now more toxic becasue of pesticides than yes...modern standards are bullshit then..people evolved eating fruits the way they are..not genetically modified and full of pesticides..who eats apple seeds? I sure dont..

I think he was getting at the fact that alot of popular fruit like oranges, bananas and strawberries were designed and engineered by man.

To add to this, no difference between natural and unnatural. Organic and inorganic obviously, but thats not what this is about. I agree with ron with the plants not messing up their synthesis procedures but my opinions are more inline with burnt otherwise.

You mentioned ephedra. I don't think ephedra is safe. It require careful use. SWIM got some from a TCM vendor once and made himself some tea. The guy in the shop just said 'don't have too much'. The first tea didn't do much so he made a stronger one. After the second tea, he thought he was going to have a heart attack! His heart had never pounded so fast in his chest from amphetamine or coke before, it was worrying... and all from a handful of twigs! The very small gap between dose and overdose with ephedrine is the reason why it was scheduled.

didn't they take psuedo-ephedrine off the shelves because it is used in meth manufacture? also i remember hearing of overdoses. chinese ephedra, on the other hand is strong as well, and should be used carefully. it is very helpful for asthma-like symptoms, and many herb shops will not carry it -this is worrysome.

Brigham Tea, or Mormon Tea...Ephedra nevadensis...can be used in the place of Ma Huang for bronchial issues.

It's not quite so strong, and I think maybe a bit more balanced. However, it still needs to be used in moderation only. It's depleting to the nervous system and if one has too much, their blood pressure may become a bit low.

It is available in herb/health/supplement shops or online.

thanks for that, i am only familiar with ma huang, and yes i only use it when necessary, and have never felt any negative side effects.

Lots of naturally-occurring foods had to be bred for generations until they were useful. Almonds used to be poison more often than not, for example. link
