Non toxic food safe extraction of mescaline using d-limonene (orange oil)

Migrated topic.
Quick question...

Do I have to have dried cactus, or can I just grind up fresh and use that, seeing as its mostly water anyway? I dont have the time nor the tools to dry all mine..

Follow the tek word for word otherwise?

Does the MEK change color?

Not at all not even after smooshing it around in the mek for hours, swirling it around... and then just letting it sit.
eventually Swim evaped the mek off. it was slightly active.
one positive though is that the resin is very soluble in 80proof vodka which means a tincture of mescalineis possible.making it easier to absord as well as to preserve and dose.

The other day swIm had some nice waxy acetate sitting in the pan ready to scrape up. It was dry to touch and would only take on a fingerprint etc if pushed hard...

Swim mucked about and never got around to scraping it, now today he thought he'd get it out of the way and he's found his acetate is oily and much softer than before.

Today is a bit colder than it has been, maybe the acetate's picking up moisture from the air?

*cough*

:d hello

this particular tek has been designed for DRY cactus my friend.
sorry:(

I thought of a way to easily dry cactus.

Just cut it into stars or cucumbers, saving as much green flesh as possible, and eliminating as much white flesh as possible. Then throw your chunks in a big bowl in the freezer.

With any luck, it should turn to liquidy mush. You can probably even remove the skins at this point, if you care.

But now it should be much much easier to dry than the unfrozen cactus chunks. It would probably only take a day or two in front of a fan (w or w/o mild heat) to dry out to useable consistency. Compared to a week or more of sun drying, dessicating, and low temp oven drying of cactus chunks to never fully achieve dryness anyway.

Never tried this method, but I think it would work.

Good luck.

It really wouldn't, but nice idea anyway.

This wouldn't happen actually. frozen and thawed cactus does not turn to liquidy mush. The pieces would stay more-or-less intact and it takes them same amount of time to dry out.

This reminds swim of an accident he had recently. He was away, and forgot to bring in his cacti. Well the temp spiked at 20 and froze his pedros. There was about 8 inches of new growth on each. When they thawed, he cut them and dried in the oven/fan. The new growth dried much differently than the base. The base when dried, resulted in normal looking chips, but the new growth looked like most of the flesh disappeared and just left the skin. I think maybe from freezing, the flesh turned into goo and just evapped when drying.

Thank you all for this thread, Mescaline is one thing SWIMS always wanted to try, but it's never been around his area.
This tek and it's followups are full of valuable information. SWIM will be starting his own extraction soon. :d

Where is a good place to look for food grade calcium hydroxide? SWIMS looked at HEB plus and a few orgainc food stores with no luck.
Tried using the search.. and reading through as many threads as SWIM could tolerate..

Thanks

Mrs. Wages Pickling Lime can be found at most grocery stores, some department stores, and even some hardware stores next to the canning supplies.

Thanks! Pickling lime... Why does everything have so many names.

One more question .. SWIMS seen cacti vary in price... SWIM doesn't want to get shafted trying to save a few bucks, but, SWIM doesn't really want to pay $90 bucks for 100g either.

EDIT: Never mind.. read all 48 pages... I'm good... awesome thread!

Thanks

Swim has french press made out of polycarbonate, is limonene safe to use with it>?

Nevermind, the limo started to break down the plastic plunger on the french press, make sure you get some industrial one if your going to use one.

On freezing and thawing cactus - up to 50% of its weight can be shed as juice, squeezing the cactus out and refreezing can get more out.
always wanted to try just evap that juice streight.
or bomb with acetone then evap.

Swim scraped the tray he dried frozen/thawed san p on. This yielded yellow powder, not sure if its active or not yet.

hola ron

i wold like to try this tek but SWIM have some probs geting d-limo in NL.

can one use haptane/naptha/ or maby Toluene, Toluene is verry expensive here so if haptane/naptha works it wold be great,

i know this is not like foodsafe anymore but no food safe shizzle in NL :(
