So I happened to start my dance with DMT about 6 months ago - using this peculiar device.
At the time - the choice was fairly easy - given it's a convection type, its power and temperature range.
The specs are really nice actually, but it is definitely on the pricey end of things.

Once I learned that spice needs to be layered - things got rolling. Here are some key take away-s:
- 180-190C is the sweet spot for spice
- I just max it out at 221C for changa and let it sit for longer if I want it to swing more towards Changa experience vs DMT
- you can temperature surf it quite successfully - the longer it sits - the hotter it gets
- I've been having better and better results from letting the dose "cook" once it hits the target temperature for another 75-90secs
- there's usually enough spice left in the chamber to keep hitting it once you're back, but if you were gone for too long - it might be a little hot. This makes for a really smooth comedown and extends the afterglow
- latest discovery I made - getting much stronger effect when packed tight - for both Changa and freebase. This also means - more layering filler for the freebase - which goes against conventional wisdom - but it works. However it's mixed doesn't seem to matter.
- adding extra mesh screens on top and bottom do help with the extra fine particles you might inhale or that can fall down onto the heating mechanism. 1/2" pipe screens are perfect
- I'm using ground chamomile for layering - it needs to be of decent quality
- tried layering with mint once - it gave me the scariest choke of my life
- fully charged battery is good for 4-6 sessions, depending on how many times you had to extend the max. running time of 420secs in every given session
- a thorough wash with alcohol after every session is a must and it's a fairly easy affair with enough q-tips and a can of compressed air
At some point I started blaming this vaporizer for the diminished quality of my trips. This resulted in an attempt to have it replace by a desktop setup - which proved to be absolute bollocks - just posted a separate thread to that matter.
Long story short - I'm one of these sorry poor blokes who do develop tolerance to spice when used extensively. In my case - even once a week seems too much. I've been adopting a more relaxed pace lately. And judging by the quality of my last trips - my Pulsar rig is perfectly adequate. It was my body all along - telling me to go easy...
Hope - this would be of help to other souls looking for light...
