RDA recommendations for DMT? (e-juice, not mesh)

Above the Sky

Rising Star
Namaste, all. I'm looking for good recommendations for an RDA with which to vape DMT e-juice. Something sturdy, with good airflow and a good build deck. Or, for tips on what traits to look for other than these three as I search around myself.

I've been vaping DMT for several months now using an old ceramic Ignition RDA. It works extremely well, but it has a non-standard drip tip, wider than 810, which is very short, leading to a lot of hot liquid jumping onto my tongue. I have successfully McGyvered a solution using two 510/810 adapters (see image) but it's less than stable so I'm looking into getting an RDA compatible with standard 810 or 510 drip tips.

Regular RDA reviews focus on flavor production and big clouds, which is irrelevant to me. DMT-oriented resources tend to recommend RDTAs like the Kylin V2 and GeekVape Zeus X. However, I like some extra alkaloids in my DMT (I prefer it yellow to slightly brown rather than white) and that has the downside of clogging the wick after ~10 tokes, requiring me to replace it, so the advantages of a tank would be lost on me and all I'd be left with in practice would be an RDA with a glass exterior and a smaller build deck.

Or maybe the smaller build deck in RDTAs isn't really a problem? If anyone has been using one while ignoring the tank feature and could give me some insight, that'd also be greatly appreciated.

Thank you all for your time and remember: life is love.

With really good success, I have been using a GeekVape m100 kit.
It comes with a Aegis mini mod and Z Nano 2 tank which takes B series coils.
I found the included 0.2 ohm coil works the best.

To mix the juice, I just use off the shelf pre mix menthol juice (without nicotine), 70/30 pg/vg ratio.
I add 2ml of juice to a shotglass and 1 gram of freebase and mix it up with a blunt drawing syringe .
Then I leave the shot glass sitting in some hot water in a cup for 15-20 min and the freebase will dissolve completely into the juice.
I then draw it all up with the blunt drawing syringe and inject it into the fill ports of the tank, and placing one tiny drop onto the coil to prime it.

I set the mod to 30W, and take long slow tokes.
Break through in 2-3 hits everytime.

Nice, any idea of the concentration in your juice?

I have the same setup and together with DMT-citrate it worked pretty well to get HM logically very surprised. 🤣

Kind regards,

Thanks for your comments, everyone. I bought a Geekvape Zeus X and it's been working well. I can break through with two 6s tokes at 42-44W with a single coil. However, it's a bit of a pain to disassemble and reassemble because of the separate chimney piece. I'm thinking of getting a Hellvape Rebirth. I'll comment here with my findings if I do.

Hey.
I am also looking around for teh RDA dripper style. Since i started to experience clogging problems after i strated making citrate e-juice. So i would apreciate your findings about the good RDA for our purpose.

Should i be looking for single or dual coil, etc...?

PS. Also i would like to use my orange style dmt extractions made with xylene, since its higher yielding.

Heya. It happend that i actually had my very own RDA allready. Its a Vandy Vape Mesh RDA i was using for freebase with the e-mesh style.
So now i loaded it with single coil, made my mix of orangey extraction with a bit of citric acid and saturated the wick. I had one session allready and it was quite ok i think i had to add few drops after 4-6 tokes. I will be experimenting more and let you know.

RDAs are an universe of options in itself. I would suggest you go into a store and visually check them before buying for the space and size of coil you want in, YouTube review videos may help in this. You also have to consider if you want big influx of air or not. I would say a single coil with controllable does this job well. The sturdy and simplest ones are usually the best imho. Remember that you will have to take it apart and wash so anything too complicated will be a drag.

I use an old school Kayfun RDA (really simple 3 piece all metal thingies) with a single Clapton coil and a silica wick. Silica wicks don't hold a lot of juice but they can be heated at any temp without catching on fire. I can fully clean it in minutes, by taking the whole atomizer out of the mod and washing it in water, take out all the excess water and then torch the coil until hot with the silica wick in. Becomes almost brand new.

Minty Love has tested a few things. I think its a good source of Information.

he never tested them for use with "full spectrum spice" and always insist on getting white flufyy stuff to not get clogging issue.
and banning everyone who has some different ideas from his server :)

Question for those who regularly use some of this RDA/RTA's, and have tried carts:

Do you feel there is a significant advantage of using RDA/RTA over carts? I have a couple (knockoff) Zeus tanks that I used for nicotine, but never tried spice in those, because I feel that carts are pretty convenient, easy to use and potent enough. I would like to try those Zeus tanks for our main purpose, but I'm not sure on the ratios, or even if there is indeed an advantage.

I know carts don't have the best reputation out there, but I'm pretty sure that's because people buy premade carts with (probably) lower concentrations of spice. My own carts have never failed to deliver the level of experience I want from them.

With an RTA I get the same strength but only have to draw for 3 seconds instead of 10 seconds. this allows me to keep the vapor in my lungs for longer.
Apart from that, I think the carts do a good job.
They even work with pure dmt, i.e. without PG/VG

Hi, I used carts exclusively for many months and still make them for trips out to nature, festivals etc. I went e-meshing for a while to get the breakthrough experience, that was a rough ride at times, finding my self loaded but not breaking through. Poor technique was to blame,. RTA;s are now an ever present tool.
I have range of mtl/rdl and DTL tanks filled with varying DMT:pG/VG mixes, from 1:2 - 1:8. The weaker mixes allow controlled journeying while using MAOI or when I am in a more crowded setting. The stronger mixes in a DTL tank facilitate heavier and breakthrough sessions. Although I found the rebuildable tanks faffy at first I recommend them to any traveller I meet and those who do bring this ROA into their tool box mostly keep it there.
Another great thing is the safety that a week mix tank can provided a newby, it is hard to overshoot and people seem to easily navigate their first steps into the DMT experience with a positive outcome. While an ego death ride into the realm is a most wonderous experience, RTA tools have opened up a whole realm of experiences that I can explore consistently and repeatedly. My e-mesh is ever ready but is being used less and less.
