It seems that our ancestors may have combined psychedelics with various forms of sympathetic resonance in order to pull these states into higher levels of coherence, depth, and accessibility. This theme appears to be central in the ancient resurrection and rebirth traditions, and shamanic traditions more generally. Most modern use, in comparison, may be extremely decontextualized.

Many of us have stumbled onto some of these approaches in the past, but combining them in a specific sequence seems to reliably produce a profound result, especially with a bit of practice. This was "re-discovered" by author and consciousness researcher Tony Wright, not myself, and I'll share more details on it later in this thread.

This was the first time my partner and I attempted a very partial version of this protocol outdoors, in 2023.

"When you look into another's eyes, what you see is the Self, fearless and deathless. That is Brahman (universal consciousness), the supreme." - Upanishads

We began taking small hits of DMT while sitting atop an extremely quartz-rich boulder, about 10 meters high and 15 wide, beneath a thick canopy of trees. A smaller boulder sat beside us, and leaning over our mossy perch was a half-fallen tree bearing a cluster of lion’s mane mushrooms. A cliff face of the same crystalline rock could be seen far behind me through the trees. Behind her was nothing but trees blowing in a warm wind.

She had eaten 0.1g of mushrooms upon arrival, and I took 0.2g. It was our first eye gazing session at an ancient sacred site, so we figured we'd start slow instead of taking LSD as the "platform".

Once we had settled into the low dose for a minute or two, we began to make eye contact. Practice and a relaxed focus seemed to allow a clear connection to form and, for whatever reason, we managed to skip the initial "revolving door of faces" stage from our first few indoor sessions. My eyes began to take in the kaleidoscopic scene that surrounded her all at once. Powerful gusts of wind made the effect all the more beautiful. Then there was a strange, out of place sound... We realized several cows had suddenly begun mooing in an unseen field that must be nearby. Far in the distance, we heard a hiker let out a Hunger Games style whistle. We laughed and took a break.

After taking another small hit from the vape, I began looking at a large quartz geode (a high frequency phononic and piezoelectric resonator, according to modern physics). I began to feel a familiar tingle in my hand as the boundaries between rock and skin started to disappear. My vision sharpened to high-definition as it seemed to pull me into a more focused and coherent state. I felt a warm energy begin to grow in my chest as the crystal seemed to shine even brighter.

Once she had done the same and was ready, we regained eye contact. This was very similar to our prior attempt at first and the kaleidoscopic background grew in intensity, but after a minute or two the sun went behind the clouds and we realized the rocky forest around us had changed dramatically. It had seamlessly transformed into a glowing bioluminescent world, like Pandora at night from the movie Avatar. I reassured her that it was alright and that I was seeing it too.

What happened next is impossible to describe... Still eye gazing and relaxing further, patterns of purple light started radiating off her skin. The fractal sea of our visual field turned from a wall of energy into a tunnel, and then into a sort of orb of light that surrounded and encompassed us. This is hard to explain because it felt like this "orb", or toroidal form, actually WAS us.

If you imagine that our sense of self is somehow correlated with the brain’s electromagnetic and phononic resonance field, then it was as if our individual fields had begun merging - forming a shared field of consciousness that extended beyond our bodies, resonating together with the universe both around and within us.

Like the two prongs of a tuning fork, or identical instruments playing the same note, resonating in unison to create a single, unified, powerful sound. Our individual sense of self began to dissolve as we were engulfed by euphoria. It seemed as if the orgasmic divine reality of a more cosmic sense of self was beginning to stir as we were pulled into what I can only describe as a toroidal vortex of the self.

I had always imagined tales of 'auras' as being a faint peripheral glow, probably just a trick of the eye, or a metaphor. But then she turned green for the first time... The ancient depictions of auras, halos, or rainbow light bodies of Vedic, Buddhist and biblical deities didn't do this justice. This was a freakishly stable, translucent standing wave of fluorescent green energy around her entire body. I could look away, look back, and it was still there... with CGI level, laser-like clarity. Different, equally mind-boggling fields began overlaying this one.

The intensity increased as if a glass ceiling had been lifted. I felt a sense of motion or rotation as the increasingly bright light around us seemed to swirl. The sense of a tangible telepathic connection during all of this was profound. We had already experienced a plethora of mind-blowing shared auditory, visual, and experiential phenomena during our earlier eye gazing sessions indoors, but this experience was of a different degree - to the point of merging. I glanced at her mouth to see if she was speaking due to the overwhelming sense of communication and connection between us. In a very literal sense, it felt as if we were two powerful magnets, pulling each other deeper into coherence, into oneness.

For a few moments it was suddenly as if we were experiencing a past life we had shared together, or our ancestors, in an ancient megalithic forest, in a deep psychedelic state of unity. The sense of touching something profoundly ancient was palpable. I still don't know what to make of this part... but it may very well have been just us - the raw reality of self and nature beneath the surface as the illusion of separation lifts. Less filtered and completely beyond the scope of my left brain's capacity to try and reduce down into familiar concepts such as "past lives". Who knows? The concept slipped right off of the experience like water on oil.

The need to analyze and interpret began to relax. All sensory data was fusing into a unified river of perceptual synesthesia, as if that was a dormant functionality all along, far more advanced than our ordinary state of mind where senses can only be processed separately, one at a time.

A bewildering amount of orgasmic loving energy was coursing through my body as we sat in some kind of divine rapture. Tears were streaming down her face. I could only stare in awe at the love of my life. As my ordinary sense of self began to regain control, my first languagable thought was that this was the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen. Astonishment of the intense beauty was then coupled with feeling deeply humbled and grateful. We stopped eye gazing and perception slowly began shifting back to something closer to baseline.

After talking for a few minutes and struggling to wrestle that incomprehensible experience into memory, I happened to look down at my legs, and the boulder beneath them. I was confused to find that my lower legs had turned a strange color, which my partner confirmed.

Suddenly, a bizarre jolt - like a sting or electric shock - shot through my entire body. At first, I was confused about the source of this. Then I looked down again, and it dawned on me that an intense magnetic energy seemed to be rising from below, as if the quartz boulder we sat on was literally melting upward into my legs. I've had many psychedelic experiences over the course of 20 years now, and while "melting" sensations aren't uncommon, this was distinctly different.

A strong psychedelic state began to build spontaneously, and 'energy' again appeared to be emanating off my partner's skin. As the intensity grew, I became dizzy. I had eaten plenty of food (probably too much, in retrospect) and drunk plenty of water. Part of me was shocked - this effect was far from subtle for such a miniscule dose of mushrooms, and the low dose of DMT had almost entirely worn off. Surely this synergy of techniques wasn't this strong?

Part of me still worried it was some allergic reaction to a plant or insect bite, but I was fine. My partner, who is well trained in the medical field, confirmed I seemed physically ok. This was in some ways reminiscent of many ayahuasca experiences where a nauseating purge wells up from within, with its expulsion quickly freeing me of all mental and physical discomfort, releasing me instantly into a blissful and clear state.

After a few minutes the dizziness subsided, the state softened, and I felt incredible. I stood up to stretch and breathe, taking in what felt like an incredible upgrade in perceptual awareness of my body and senses that persisted long after. I was overcome with profound gratitude and a new appreciation for the beauty of nature, along with a sense that as weird as this day had seemed, it was only the tip of the iceberg.

Thank you both for the kind words!

Beautiful read. Your technique sounds powerful and profound as does your love.

Nice cliff hanger ending, :D.

I don't normally like cliffhangers! I just wasn't sure how else to convey it without digging too deep into the more weird stuff that's happened since. I think it'd be better to explain the reasoning behind the protocol first before sharing more experiences because they sound increasingly outlandish. Then again, a lot of talk at the nexus pertains to other dimensions and discarnate alien entities so it really shouldn't be that weird in comparison 😅

Generally speaking it seems like this current report is basically just a description of the beginning of an initial transition into a more coherent/resonant state. It wasn't till later that we had a better glimpse of the more stabilized state that results after the transition.

It reads like a story from a book ;)
The protocol and results are very interesting. I hope to hear more
Thanks for bumping this incredible thread and giving me the opportunity to catch up on something that slipped me by at the time.

Now you've got me intrigued, @universecannon!

I've been very slowly trying to put a handful of these experiences into words. Before attempting to explain the larger theory and potential mechanisms as to why this might be possible in greater detail, I'm curious to hear if anyone has any experience in these areas.

If consciousness is fundamentally field-based in some way, then the striking possibility is that our ancestors were deliberately cultivating conditions for greater coherence within that field. They appear to have frequently combined multiple techniques that have been shown to synchronize neural activity across brain regions (aka further unify the overall neural field) - such as psychedelics, eye gazing, collective chanting, breathwork, and music. Even more intruiging is that this was often done at very specific "powerful" locations, acoustically engineered chambers, and often in the presence of large "geocrystalline" resonators (quartz-rich rock or megaliths), perhaps in attempts to utilize external sympathetic resonance to pull the psychedelically-synchronized neural field into a more coherent state.

It is well established in several fields of science that external resonance can pull oscillating systems into greater coherence. Perhaps these basic principles of resonance apply to neural resonance fields as well.

A beautiful report of a beautiful experience. It's a privilege (should be a right) to be able to experience these things by yourself, let alone with a partner. Nice location too.

Were the mushrooms cubensis or something stronger?

Cubensis, but it was a stronger batch than normal.

I was somewhat sleep deprived as well. It takes some context to unpack the reasoning behind that ancient technique, but long story short it does seem to drastically inhibit the ego/left hemisphere dominance.

I finally got around to reading this, it's been open in a tab for a while. What a wonderful way you have with words. Your ability to English that which is inherently resistant to Englishing is commendable.

I've read through the third paper as it was the only freely available one, and the idea it posits certainly makes some sense in the face of the evidence we have. Still, I have a million questions that hang unanswered, perhaps because I'm missing a lot of context and a deeper understanding of the properties of phonons and all the science behind that.

If I'm understanding the idea of this experiment correctly, the quartz acts as a sort of high-capacity, high-grade conductor and amplifier of the EMF field of our brain, and when you combine that with the presence of a second brain, the two EMF emissions combine and enhance each other, amplifying in strength via the conductive and magnifying properties of the crystal, to produce a larger-than-the-sum EMF field that perhaps interacts with the deeper reaches of our brain and produces these mystical effects that you experienced.

Is that more or less the idea of the experiment? I want to know more! :D

I'd love if you could share the protocols you followed and gave more instructions on how one could follow along. And also include ideas on how one could go about this when doing it alone (since I have no partner currently, and I don't usually enter those realms in the presence of other people, as I extract the most value when journeying solo).

You don't post often, but basically everything that you do post is of insane quality and I always thoroughly enjoy reading it <3

I really appreciate the kind words Nydex! Your presence on the forum after my long hiatus has been such a pleasant surprise <3

I’ll do my best to condense a partial summary and explain my experience with the basic protocol itself...with the disclaimer being that I’m absolutely NOT an expert on this stuff, and am certainly NOT an expert on resonance states. I’ve had some increasingly life changing glimpses but as later trip reports will explain I had a major health scare in the middle of all of this (it was unrelated to the protocol itself), and I’m only recently beginning to heal the intense trauma from that time as I've slowly built back my confidence, worked through psychological blockages etc.

Again, this is not my theory, so bare with me. I didn’t come up with this theory, Tony Wright did, and this is essentially my own understanding (and perhaps at times misunderstanding) of it. It would take much longer to properly unpack this in a way that does it justice than I can encompass in a single post.

I’ll try and polish this up at some point with more references and a more full version. For now, some general references at the end (and from this earlier comment/abstract) will have to do.

There is a much larger theory that surrounds this narrow summary (aka why our ancestors may have thought these techniques were necessary in the first place), but more on that later. The more speculative resurrection end of it is what I’ll cover here, since it is possible to simply view this protocol as a way to dramatically transform psychedelic states into more coherent, resonance states.

Partial Resurrection Summary

For reasons we'll get to later, this theory essentially suggests that modern psychedelic use is highly out of context with its origins - in other words, the experience is highly decoherent without the addition of complimentary techniques to pull it into focus. Our ancestors frequently combined psychedelics with a number of synergistic techniques, often at specific locations they considered extremely powerful. Such practices often fell under themes of “resurrection” or “rebirth”, where the day-to-day self and reality dissolves, giving way to a more fundamental, connected, or even cosmic sense of self that was subjectively described in terms of divinity and superlatives. You see this perspective in several places such as the Egyptian book of the Amduat, and even the the Gospel of Philip of the Nag Hammadi texts: “Those who say they will die first and then rise are wrong. If they do not receive the resurrection while they live, when they die they will receive nothing”.

It was only in fairly recent times that “resurrection” became confused as a literal re-animation of the dead.

If field theories of consciousness are on the right track, then the mechanisms underlying these techniques, and the transformative states that emerge as a result, become more clear. Field theories in neuroscience vary, but the point here is they generally suggest that the resonance fields the neural system emanates are somehow correlated with our sense of self. There is a wide range of resonance phenomena within the brain that different theories propose could be involved in this; EM fields, of course, but also superradiance, biophotons, high frequency phononic resonance in microtubules, and so on. These phenomena all seem to be interconnected and may play a role, but the current theory isn’t really concerned with uncovering the precise biophysics of consciousness - the key point here is the view of brain as a resonator.

The study that youtube video above is pulled from takes this a bit further. They used new ultra-fast fMRI which revealed the brain appears to behave like a resonance chamber, with standing waves of variable frequency and coherence moving across it. This makes the brain analogous to an acoustic chamber, such as a room or instrument, where sound resonates and forms standing-wave patterns within the acoustic field. If we assume field theories of mind are accurate, then the scale and coherence of these standing waves could directly correlate with the quality and depth of our perception and sense of self.

The question then is how would these ancient techniques impact the nature of this neural symphony. The evidence suggests that these techniques have neurological effects which converge towards synchronizing neural activity, and pulling the neural field into greater coherence using sympathetic resonance. This includes psychedelics, meditative approaches, acoustic resonance, geocrystalline resonance, eye gazing, and related techniques.

The first layer is psychedelics and meditation, both of which have been shown to synchronize neural activity across brain regions [international mega-study on psychedelics]. An analogy would be recruiting more members across a large orchestra to play in unison, resulting in the emergence of a more orchestra-wide, unified sound wave. The degree of brain-wide neural synchronization has even been directly linked to the level of reported ego-dissolution.

However, as profound as many of these psychedelic states feel, the experience can often fluctuate from horrific, to transcendent, or anywhere in between. For reasons they deemed extremely important, our ancestors appear to have been focused on pulling this psychedelically-unified neural field into greater coherence and resolution with the help of sympathetic resonance, perhaps resulting in reliable access to far deeper and more stable states than we have reference points for today.

The classic example of sympathetic resonance is when striking one tuning fork causes another tuning fork nearby to vibrate at the same frequency, without being struck. It is noted in several fields of science that external resonance can pull oscillating systems into a more coherent state, and being a resonance system itself, this principle may apply to the brain as well.

According to basic resonance principles, synchronized oscillations (i.e. the more unified field provided by psychedelics and meditation) would provide a more conducive state for sympathetic resonance to occur. A good example that is somewhat related to this is ephaptic coupling, a route whereby neural fields resonance couple to eachother without physical connections - and a feedback route through which neural fields can influence neural activity directly.
27023.jpg

The first layer of sympathetic resonance that permeated ancient traditions was acoustic resonance, both in the form of acoustically-designed chambers, chanting, singing, and a range of instruments from gongs, singing bowls, conch shells, etc. Music has been found to cause brainwave entrainment, where neural oscillations couple with external stimuli and synchronize their activity throughout several brain regions. This essentially means that external acoustic resonance can help induce a more unified and coherent overall neural field, with a result somewhat related to that of psychedelics or meditation. Considering that acoustic and other fields such as EM can interact directly, there is also a potential for a more direct sympathetic impact on oscillating neural structures themselves.

Acoustics of the quartz-rich, highly polished granite chambers of Barabar, India:

There is an entire field of archeoacoustics studying the peculiar focus on sound at countless ancient sites. However, our ancestors were adamant that these were extremely powerful locations for more reasons than acoustics.

We have numerous studies demonstrating that acoustic, EM, ultrasound, and other external fields can interact with each other - and in some cases strongly influence the brain’s neural activity and consciousness (e.g. TMS therapy for depression, etc.). It would therefore be reasonable to investigate whether the neural field, under certain conditions, could potentially interact with the established high frequency resonance properties of crystalline materials. If so, it's possible that geocrystalline resonance was utilized as another layer of sympathetic resonance to pull the psychedelic or meditative state into greater coherence.

This might not be as far fetched as it initially sounds. Today, quartz is the most widely used resonator on the planet, primarily because of its stable high-frequency phononic oscillations, piezoelectric and optical properties. Its exotic quantum resonance properties and high level of coherence are becoming increasingly utilized in quantum sensors and quantum computing. In physics, “phonons” are regarded as quantized vibrations in matter; in other words, phonons are to sound as photons are to light. Quartz's highly ordered atomic lattice structure sustains these coherent vibrational waves at extremely high frequencies.

This curiously parallels the ancient perspective where quartz was globally revered for its supposed highly energetic properties. This view is remarkably consistent among ancient cultures, and quartz was frequently integrated into spiritual traditions and architecture. Interestingly, microtubule lattices within neurons somewhat overlap the characteristics of a quartz lattice; these cytoskeletal structures permeate the neural system, behave like coupled oscillators, emanate high frequency EM and phononic resonance, have potential piezoelectric properties, and display quantum coherent behavior such as superradiance. The structure and behavior of microtubules has also been compared with crystal resonators in a number of studies.

The point here is not to prove anything, but merely to suggest that the possibility of an interaction between neural and crystalline resonant structures can be framed as a testable hypothesis, with potential mechanisms to explore. It’s worth mentioning that some of the most exotic properties of quartz, such as coherent hybrid oscillations extending beyond its surface, were only discovered in 2026. As with the neural system, the physics of its resonant behavior is not entirely settled. There may well be more to discover about its characteristics that could be relevant to this investigation and the impetus behind its widespread historic usage.

Additionally, the potential implications of much of this research are not considered on the macro scale. We are currently sitting on a roughly 20 mile thick geocrystalline shell, while immersed 24/7 in the larger electromagnetic, telluric, geomagnetic, and seismic fields around or emanating from the earth. This invisible ocean includes other resonance waves that our physics instruments say are all around us at any given moment, but reside outside of the visual spectrum (gamma rays etc). We tend to view these fields as distinct because this conceptual separation is easier to understand and useful for conducting research, but at another level, it is more like a seamless ocean of vibrational phenomena, already known to interact in a variety of ways. These fields and geocrystalline materials never truly exist in isolation, and neither does our neural field.

According to several geological surveys, a number of ancient sacred sites appear to have been preferentially built near cracks or fissures in the geocrystalline crust. Immense geological pressure exists in these areas, and pressure within the crust is known to generate EM fields, ionization of the air, and likely the peculiar phenomena of “earthquake lights”. Modern findings also include standing waves of seismic energy that propagate within fluid filled cracks (which serve as a wave-guide), and high frequency EM waves emanating from fractures in the crust. [See studies below]

If ancient megalithic sites were frequently built around hotspots of resonance phenomena, then this would explain the frequent preference for quartz-rich material in both the selection of sacred sites and megalithic structures themselves, which were continuously rebuilt on precisely the same location for thousands of years. The recent discovery that Stonehenge consists of a rare form of mineral quartz that is 99.7% pure is but one example. This could also explain the quartz-rich granite lining the inner chamber of the great pyramid, quartz shiva-lingams in the center of temples, and the preference for crystalline material noted worldwide.

Interestingly, dowsers' depictions of “ley lines” look like cracks along a map, not straight lines. They could be simply mapping cracks in the geocrystalline crust which emanate these waves. Stone circles and many sacred sites are supposedly even located where two ley lines meet. Such wave collisions could form cymatic, spiral patterns, because in physics, when two waves meet, spiral eddies and wave interference patterns often form - just like when you clap your hands just under the surface of water. Callanish in the Outer Hebrides is a great visual example. Later, Anglo-Saxon churches were often built on top of these ancient sites, and mirrored this cruciform orientation. Some old churches even have a crooked nave, which is quite an anomaly for such master craftsmen, but would make sense if its layout reflects where cracks in the geocrystalline crust meet. (There is much potential related symbology I won’t cover here, as this is already the more speculative end of the theory.)

The theory also explains the curiously widespread traditions of crystal gazing. If there is a potential for sympathetic resonance with the neural field, then a meditative gaze and physical contact with what modern science now considers a high-frequency geocrystalline resonator might make sense. It would also open the possibility of sympathetic resonance between two or more neural fields, perhaps explaining the tradition of eye gazing that was heavily embedded in India and hinted at in various ancient traditions, including Greece and Egypt.

Studies have found eye contact synchronizes neural activity both within the brain and between participants, even eventually leading to hallucinations while sober. A similar but perhaps less intense neural-synchronization effect between individuals has been noted with other common ancient group practices as well, such as synchronized breathing, movement, singing, and humming. In physics, structures with similar resonance characteristics that emanate similar fields are far more likely to resonate with each other (e.g. similarly synchronized neural fields), which opens the door to an explanation for countless reports of shared experiences and related phenomena.

The following accounts of eye-to-eye Darshan with Ramana Maharshi, while at a temple on the slope of the sacred granite mountain Aranachala, are strikingly similar to some of the recent eye gazing experiences people have been reporting with this protocol.

There is another layer or over-arching part of this theory (compared to this much more speculative resurrection part) that addresses the question of why our ancestors might have been obsessed with this stuff in the first place, and why they viewed this within a context of healing and re-accessing something that was lost. It seems that ancient spiritual practices were actually viewed as treatments, not advancements, but I’ll leave that out for now and just refer to Tony Wright’s other work for more context there.

[Edit: For now, anyone who wants more info on all this should check out the website, preprints, etc. linked later in this thread. All of this may sound crazy, but this is a partial skeletal outline at best.]

Now...on to the fun stuff!

Resurrection Protocols

The important thing is that much of this is testable.

Regardless of the validity of any of the above ideas, and the potential mechanisms behind why this works, the modern version of this ancient protocol seems to reliably produce increasingly profound and stabilized experiences in a number of people who have tried them. I'd rather people come to their own conclusions rather than take my word for it.

What follows is just a brief overview of my experiences with the modern re-imagined version of the ancient resurrection protocols outlined by Wright. The theory is that this induces the emergence of a profoundly different state of perception and sense of self - in other words, the resurrection of a coherent neural resonance field or standing wave. The idea is to pull the psychedelic state into vastly greater levels of coherence by utilizing a specific sequence of increasingly high-frequency sympathetic resonance.

There is obviously scope for improvement here and, of course, any number of partial protocols of variable effectiveness. It’s also obviously recommended to have significant experience with psychedelics before attempting this. It is so shockingly effective that I'm hesitant to recommend that anyone try the full protocol, apart from researchers who can test these elements safely. I'm simply reporting my experience testing it, and not recommending everyone dives into this. This protocol requires comparatively small amounts of psychedelics, so the ultimate goal here is harm reduction on several levels. Please read the websites disclaimers/content in full after this short summary.

This is how it’s broken down on the site, so what follows is just my own experience and take on it, based on what my friends and I have seen so far during our relatively limited exploration of it.

The safest route was to first re-familiarized myself with small doses of DMT or Changa. This amount can vary and seems to depend on individual sensitivity, practice, other techniques used, and several other factors. The idea was to first become familiar and comfortable enough with this state so that I could get up and walk around, etc. This can be weird at first, but I was already accustomed to it after years of “normal” exploration, and it became increasingly relaxed over time. The goal is a state where the visual environment has changed somewhat but physical function remains. A vape made re-dosing in the middle of things easy.

The next layer is acoustics (when possible, but not strictly necessary). High quality choir music on a pair of halfway decent speakers worked well (not headphones).
If available, I then add in a quartz singing bowl on top of the choir music.

Obviously a lot of different acoustics and music can help, but this particular combination seems quite effective. With relaxation my partner and I can feel the acoustics already bringing increased focus and perceptual coherence. I've played around a bit with layering a 110 or 111hz tone first on a separate pair of speakers, as an additional layer before the choir music and singing bowl (some temples seem tuned to that resonant frequency) and it is surprising how much that helps lift the state.

So we hit the vape, relax, and layer up the acoustics if available. Then we focus a relaxed and meditative gaze onto a 1kg+ geocrystalline resonator, such as an amethyst cluster or clear quartz.

There seems to be a large sensitivity spectrum between people here. For some it might be shocking right away, or may take several attempts to notice anything strange at all. But with a decent amethyst, the right dosage, relaxation, and practice, we eventually notice a repeatable and increasingly easy-to-access visual effect, a greatly amplified and extended psychedelic state, pulsing back-lit glowing light, glowing standing waves/fields around the crystal, a magnetic connection, physical oscillations, sensations in the hands, greater perceptual and visual focus, the other more standard psychedelic visuals clearing up, etc., etc. Placing hands on the crystal seems to help a lot to.

While often relatively mind blowing, or even shocking and terrifying at first, this is just the clue that it is barely beginning to work.

This could of course be easily dismissed as a typical artifact of a hallucinatory experience and a suggestive mind, and some of the initial distortion/decoherent aspects might be simply that, as the experience is still filtering through our dominant perceptual mode/ego. There does seem to be a pretty odd alignment period initially for me, where the crystal takes on a very bizarre look that is difficult to describe. But with practice, an increasingly stable and deep connection forms that eventually becomes subjectively self-evident, increasingly intense, and repeatedly accessible.

Once a resonance connection on low dose DMT became easy and familiar with practice, the protocol is to carefully add in more elements, namely a longer lasting psychedelic.

It seemed easiest to slowly up the dosage to 100ug of LSD over the course of a few sessions so that I could remain relaxed and comfortable (which is a bit stronger than most seem to think, since the dosage of LSD these days is often wildly exaggerated and mysterious unless you test it). Once comfortable I then added in acoustics and crystal gazing. After it is clear that crystal gazing is beginning to work on LSD, the idea is to amplify this state with small hits of DMT, as before.

Other psychedelics work well, but IMO, LSD seems to be the most useful, coherent, and functional long-lasting “platform” so far tested, and can be worked with on its own to great effect with practice, especially if it is high quality. It also appears to remain very effective even long after the peak, and seems to slowly build a background of coherence. The usefulness of hours 4-9, especially at sacred sites or in the presence of large resonators (giant amethyst), is often shocking.

These substances synchronize and unify neural activity, according to studies, but usually the neural resonance field or sense of self is still relatively decoherent compared to what is possible. This seems to be largely why the psychedelic experience can vary anywhere from divine, hellish, and anything in between. If the idea is to apply an increasingly high frequency ladder of sympathetic resonance to bring this field into ever greater levels of coherence, then acoustics + crystal gazing are the first steps on this ladder.

Once we can confidently access some level of a resonance connection via crystal gazing and are in a relatively coherent state that seems to plateau, we begin eye gazing.

This protocol seems to be shockingly more effective at an ancient sacred site such as a stone circle, temple, or dolmen (especially any ancient site with large quartz-rich megaliths). It's easy to underestimate the power of these sites. There seems to be a reason our ancestors were obsessed with them for thousands of years, constantly rebuilding on the same locations and augmenting them with megaliths for their most important rituals surrounding "rebirth" and "resurrection".

The more we build coherence first via crystal gazing, the better/quicker eye gazing seems to work, and the less time spent languishing in the weird but interesting “revolving door of faces” stage. This is a transitional stage filled with any number of bizarre effects and face changes such as elderly faces, other people or animals faces, and even ghoulish, decaying, distorted or zombie-like faces. The energetic visage seems to reflect the level of coherence between partners. In ancient times it looks like this process was usually referred to as a journey through the underworld/netherworld, as the normal sense of self "dies" en route to resurrect a divine sense of self or connection with the cosmos, and tbh the experience reflects this theme of death and rebirth quite heavily at times.

Psychedelic eye gazing is not for the faint of heart and requires absolute trust between people. Studies also have shown eye gazing synchronizes neural activity far more successfully between people who know each other well. This has been reflected in our experiences, and doing it with a partner seems quite effective given the level of trust/intimacy, as there is less barriers and emotional walls that need to come down. The bizarre face changes and other more typical psychedelic effects calm down as coherence builds and perception sharpens dramatically.

Feeling/seeing freakishly stable and increasingly mind boggling cymatic standing waves of glowing (and even ringing) resonance around crystals, partners, and plants is normal at any stage of this process. Eventually an intense magnetic connection can form with the partner or crystal, and the sympathetic resonance connection between each other begins to truly sing. This can be terrifying to the ego, but seems to be increasingly smooth, quick, and easy with practice. Sometimes I know it’s working when a bright white light begins above my head or around us, connection between our eyes becomes intensely magnetic, fields begin emerging from their forehead, etc. This is often when my ego feels like it is getting subsumed and may put up little or heavy resistance. This is just the beginning.

Getting through this initial transition into a profound and stable resonance state seems much easier to accomplish at a sacred site or with a very large geocrystalline resonator at home, and can take several sessions, but every stage of the process is just utterly incredible. What seems to eventually emerge cannot be accurately described in language. The art of Alex Grey is at times shockingly reminiscent, and ancient art of rainbow light bodies and auras, or our ancestors descriptions of resurrection or rebirth of a cosmic sense of self with effulgent, archetypal divine radiance that can be shockingly stable beyond belief, along with a perception of resonance fields and non-duality that is impossible to describe, all while remaining physically functional. It’s eventually as if there is an increasingly intense resonance coupling with the vibrational fabric of reality and you are the universe re-opening its eyes to the fundamental resonance ocean that “it” all is. Sounds crazy perhaps, but this aligns with ancient accounts, and we are after all the eyes and ears of the cosmos experiencing itself, any way you slice it...we just normally are never aware of this on a visceral level. But if the brain is a resonator, then a more coherent field may well reveal a clearer picture of where and what we are.

Shared, stable visual/perceptual/auditory/psychic content between individuals has become normalized at any stage of this process for us. Elements of these states are of course part of psychedelic experiences people still describe today, but I am not exaggerating...this is like taking the best elements of psychedelic states and bringing them into vastly greater clarity and focus, while making it repeatedly accessible and physically functional for extended periods, once stabilized.

Potentiating factors

A clean diet seems to help immensely. Especially fruit in the days leading up to a resonance session (more on that on the website etc.)

1 or 2 nights sleep deprivation. Even just waiting till the next morning to dose around the 24hr mark is significantly more effective for us. Sleep deprivation is a powerful ancient approach found all over the world that seems to significantly fatigue the ego/left hemisphere first, thereby lessening its dominance and ability to suppress these right hemispheric states (see Adam Levin’s work on how the right brain is essentially the seat of these experiences). The most familiar example is probably the Buddha staying awake for 7 days and reaching enlightenment, Native American vision quests, Egyptian right of passage or the Epic of Gilgamesh. Once you look for it, it is everywhere. See Tony Wright, Ian McGilchrist, and Adam Levin’s work for more on the reasoning behind that. It makes more sense once you understand the greater context behind these ideas, which the larger theory thoroughly explains.

Significant prior experience with psychedelics was of course a prerequisite and great practice, but even with the better part of 2 decades of fairly intense psychonautic experience under my belt this was still ontologically shocking, and that’s with just my fairly limited experience with the full protocol. As shocking as it’s been, it’s all relative and I’ve really only had glimpses.

Letting go, and dealing with the shock, is often the main hurdle, but paranoia and delusions can also arise just like with any other psychedelic usage, except these combined techniques are far more powerful (eventually the geocrystalline resonators become more powerful than the substances in a way that is shockingly self-evident). Usually, increasing coherence via more of the protocol (e.g. more crystal gazing) smoothens these issues out if they arise for me, especially with a useful mantra to bring calm focus. Any repressed trauma will likely emerge to the surface to, which can of course be a good thing when ready for it. We make sure there are sitters when possible and like to keep a xanax handy tbh.

Practice seemed to be key, and transformed the results of even partial protocols dramatically... to a degree that people would think is completely impossible, including myself. My partner and I have gotten in over our heads more than once with this. There are endless layers to it. Once it begins to really work it’s analogous to rapidly re-awakening an atrophied muscle, or finally figuring out how to make a singing bowl truly ring (it begins to feedback with its own resonance and snowballs). Anyways this probably sounds completely crazy, but future reports by myself and others will hopefully make the experiential aspect more clear.

Normally I would prefer not to relate these experiences so as to not potentially color expectations and experiences if this is ever studied. But at this point I've seen enough friends try it with or without expectations, who observed the same results - and, more importantly, due to the high level of shock/weirdness of the results, it is far safer to be prepared for the potential terrain than to go in blind.

This is just a brief summary of my experiences with it. Please don't take my word for it and give Wright's work a serious look if you're interested in these areas, because the full context is important and I have not touched on it here.

Wow, just wow...This is beyond peculiar and fascinating. I want to point out a few things related to what you're saying.

First of all, I want to focus on the peculiarity of ancient sacred sites like the Carnac or Callanish being situated near cracks in the crust meeting. If I'm not mistaking the geoterminology, this is often referred to tectonic fault lines. If indeed what you say is right, and there is a correlation between the location of these fault lines, and sacred sites, then it's definitely worth mentioning that there seem to be quite a few of these sacred neolithic sites located on or near fault lines. A few prominent examples:

Göbekli Tepe, which is one of the most fascinating sacred sites ever discovered, sits on a prominent limestone plateau, with the entire surrounding region situated near the East Anatolian Fault zone, one of the most seismically active tectonic boundaries on the planet.

Furthermore, the Incan citadel of Machu Picchu seems to be deliberately built at the intersection of a network of tectonic faults that, when looked from atop, form a distinct "X" shape beneath the city.

Moving further east, it seems that ancient Greek sacred sites share this pattern:

Delphi: The Temple of Apollo was positioned directly over an active fault line.
Mycenae: The ancient city and its sacred Shaft Grave Circle A were built on a tectonic horst uplifted by active normal faults. Geological evidence shows that earthquakes routinely opened chasms in the earth here, which the inhabitants venerated as literal gateways to the underworld, utilizing them to deposit sacred offerings.
Cities like Hierapolis, Ephesus, and Cnidus show similar spatial relationships with seismic faults.

Now, geologists and archaeologists often explain this relationship in 3 main ways:
1. Fault zones inherently offer pre-fractured rock. For civilizations without advanced metallurgy, this drastically reduced the kinetic energy and labor required for megalithic quarrying.
2. Faults act as highly efficient conduits for groundwater. They bring vital, permanent springs to the surface in otherwise arid terrains, dictating where a settlement could survive.
3. Geothermal activity, gas emissions, and the kinetic power of earthquakes, which often manifest at fault lines, were frequently interpreted as manifestations of terrestrial or divine energy, making these locations culturally and spiritually magnetic.

But if the hypothesis explored by this experiment is in fact correct, it would absolutely explain this obvious and peculiar connection.

On a tangential note, I am frequently reminded of the McKenna brothers' "La Chorrera" experiment, and now after reading your posts, I wonder if what they experienced isn't similar to what your experiment poses, just mediated by virtue of sound only, without explicit linking to crystals or eye-gazing. Hmmm...

What you're saying about sleep deprivation is interesting. Even though I'm somewhat obsessed with sleep quality and have my own protocols to increase that, I can definitely see the value in lowering the ego's grip strength during such experiences.
Once you look for it, it is everywhere.
You are completely right. All throughout history, sleep deprivation has been a part of practices aimed at experiencing the divine in some form. I want to further emphasize this by sharing a piece of Norse mythology that explores something very similar in nature.

The reference is expressed in stanzas 138 and 139 from "Hávamál" ("Sayings of the High One"), a poem within the Poetic Edda (translation by Carolyne Harrington):
I know that I hung on a windswept tree
nine long nights,
wounded with a spear, dedicated to Odin,
myself to myself,
on that tree of which no man knows
from where its roots run.

With no bread did they refresh me nor a drink from a horn,
downwards I peered;
I took up the runes, screaming I took them,
then I fell back from there.

Here Odin, perhaps the most prominent figure in Norse mythology, in his ever-lasting quest for knowledge, subjects himself to 9 days of torture and physical deprivation by hanging upside-down from the branches of Yggdrasil, over the Well of Urd located at one of its roots, pierced by his spear Gungnir, and exposed to harsh winds. At the end, near his breaking point, he attains divine enlightenment and receives the knowledge of the runes, which completely transform the Norse mythos and open new doors to exploration.

On another tangential note, I remember having an acquaintance from New Zealand, a particularly fascinating person that liked to go really deep with large doses of LSD. He often spoke to me about seeing an ancient primordial crab-like being moving through the rocks. He said it takes time to really see it, but if you connect with the rocks properly, you can see it slithering through every single one of them, and by virtue of the nature of its movements, reality itself was subjected to dramatic changes he could not put into words. I wonder if he was experiencing something similar to what this experiment mentions...

You mention amethyst. Can any crystal be used for this, or is quartz the best one to choose for its atomic resonant properties?

I want to definitely explore this further, but I'm afraid my access to DMT and LSD right now are rather limited. I do have access to psilocybin, though, and I wonder how far I can go with that. It's definitely something on my list of things to explore in the future.

Thank you for sharing all of this. It's truly fascinating and exciting to read about stuff like this, because it reveals more about perhaps one of the most enigmatic things we have ever found - the very thing that makes us human, consciousness.

Much love brother, looking forward to seeing how this develops <3

I'm very interested in the effects and the technique, and don't doubt them. I'm highly skeptical of the proposed explanation, though. I think it's likely that it would work in different settings (as long as they are perceived to be significant by the participant), with different minerals (or even other kind of objects), etc. Of course I have no proof of any of this, I'm just saying my likelihood estimates right now, without having ever tried it.

I would warn, however, against the temptation of getting lost in "patterns" without also seeking evidence against those patterns, or else confirmation bias can run wild. When stumbling upon something relevant and unusual, it's better to resist the temptation to give a full explanation to it, keep options open, gather evidence, and test. Looking explicitly to observe evidence against your hypothesis, not in favor of it.

Hopefully I'll have some time this summer to try it. If I'm able to get to the point you describe, I'd be interested then in progressively removing or changing elements of it one by one, and seeing if I still can get a similar level of experience.

There's an aspect that is limiting in my case, and sounds quite arbitrary to me:
repeat the above protocol at a neolithic sacred site
I don't happen to have access to any neolithic sacred site, but I do have access to several paleolithic ones, with fallen menhirs, a "special" spring (marked by a menhir that later got a cross carved in it), and burial mounds. I imagine the people who built that saw something special in the area, as it's not easily accessible, so it wasn't convenience. What were the paleolithic humans missing so that their sacred grounds aren't adequate?

What were the paleolithic humans missing so that their sacred grounds aren't adequate?
I don't think there is necessary anything they were missing, just that the existing experimentation might have been performed exclusively on neolithic sites rather than paleolithic. It might also have been the case that the link between fault lines and energetic oddities (if that link is even real) had not been realized at the point where those paleolithic sites were being built.

Experimentation at both and the resulting comparison will probably provide some answers to your question. I'd be curious to hear what your results would look like, so without putting any pressure on you, can you kindly go trip some balls and report back? :ROFLMAO:

Thank you for your replies, I really do appreciate the skepticism to, and would love for this to be critiqued more heavily (easy to say of course since it isn't my theory :ROFLMAO: ) I think eventually explaining more of the context might clear some things up too so I'll share more info soon.

On mobile ATM so kind of limited in replying but wow @Nydex , amazing info. I wasn't aware of the Odin story, very cool. And yes amethyst and clear quartz seem to work but I'm not sure about other crystals. Some likely do to a degree. I think I remember reading that lapis lazuli resonates phononically and many gems were used in Vedic/Egyptian headresses. One of us did have an intense experience with moldovite... I just haven't really tested anything else yet and I can't recall if others have.

I stumbled into this thread recently.
Dmt and fluorite towers creating field around the user visible light spectrum tracing the field

It does seem like many people have stumbled onto partial protocols with shocking results that they struggled to explain. House's trip report below comes to mind. I had an accidental eye gazing experience many years ago on 50mg DMT that I want to write about eventually because it was long before I'd heard of this stuff, and it was the most profound experience of my life until recent experiments. Luckily those dosages are not necessary with a synergy of ancient techniques.

What rocks was your friend referring to regarding the "crab"? The "slithering" sounds promising as a description of "standing waves".

Yes Dennis McKenna's experience with sleep deprivation/acoustics/excessive mushrooms definitely seems related, even if their initial explanations never really held up over time and it had some major elements of decoherence/delusion. I'd suspect that site to be located on some interesting geology, and there was a large waterfall present, but I guess we may never know.

He was a big supporter of the earlier version of this theory and wrote the forward to the original book Left in the Dark in 2007 (Inner Traditions later renamed it "return to the brain of eden"). That said, as much as I love those guys, I don't really agree with a lot of the Terence-style view of hyperspace anymore after working with this stuff, since I think we are kind of looking at these states through a distorted left-brain lens, and it is more decoherent then we can realize till we get a glimpse of coherence. The experience has been ontologically shocking for me in this regard. But of course who knows what the "reality" really is at the end of the day.

Regarding mushrooms, they were likely the primary medicine used in stone circles, so I think it probably works quite well with practice but I haven't done more than .3g or so in this context. I usually use small amounts and add in DMT for a short solo session. I'm hoping to change that soon and try a gram or so, as I always enjoyed them immensely and find it much easier to relax. They do seem to have more of a mindwarp element for me and their own characteristics which might get in the way of this stuff to some degree but worth trying.

The main problem for me with mushrooms can be nausea and an increased difficulty in focusing my eyes on one spot, but that might have been mostly due to the low dose harmalas I added to it. I found it difficult to eye gaze on .3g + 40mg harmalas + DMT but it was immensely euphoric to the point where I thought overdosing on endorphins was a possibility. The thing is, high quality LSD just seems to work better than anything else - even better than DMT with practice. That might be due to the duration and the fact that it hits more receptors, I don't know. It just really shines with repetition, once I can relax a bit.

And yes @blig-blug the Paleolithic vs Neolithic is probably arbitrary to some degree. Thank you for pointing that out. I should probably just say ancient sacred site with a preference for megaliths/quartz-rich geology such as granite. I think I mention Neolithic because that is the era (I think after 10,000 BC?) where megalithic construction materials were mostly added (likely built on top of Paleolithic sites at times) and I just wasn't aware of anything older than that besides gobekli tepe.

Those springs and menhirs should be a good sign. I'm sure a lot of ancient sites work but the ones with large quartz rich megaliths seem generally more effective so far.

The other thing that comes to mind is that it's probably likely that some humans were of course doing resurrection/rebirth related rituals at special sites in the Paleolithic and some were not. Just as we have "advanced" technological civilization coexisting at the same time as uncontacted tribes in the Amazon today etc. (though I'm not sure I'd refer to our civilization as more advanced since we are in the process of destroying our own home)

Of course this type of rock wasn't always available depending on the area to. My partner and I tested an ancient site that didn't have any construction and while it seemed to work far better than at home, the same exact dosage/approach at the quartz boulders was immensely more effective.

I don't generally trust myself to judge these things though without excessive repetition, and even then I think doubt is always important especially when dealing with high powered psychedelics and so many variables, including confirmation bias etc, as you say. But I do think some of this becomes much more clear after some experience with it. It is indescribable to say the least, and far from subtle, regardless of whether the underlying mechanics are accurate. It seems incredibly unlikely to me that placebo etc. is powerful enough to reach such depths on the low doses required, in such a stabilized and reproducible way no less - but luckily it should be easy to test that.

When stumbling upon something relevant and unusual, it's better to resist the temptation to give a full explanation to it, keep options open, gather evidence, and test. Looking explicitly to observe evidence against your hypothesis, not in favor of it.

This is great advice, and to my knowledge is what the author has done over the last 30 years. The theory has generated a wide range of testable predictions to stress test it with, apart from of course the protocol itself. I think the author originally stumbled onto aspects of this stuff in the 90s, but it wasn't until recent years where they began putting these elements together in a more effective sequence that mirrored ancient traditions. I can imagine people being hesitant to talk about the crystal/experiential aspect of this sort of thing since it sounds so incredibly outlandish, but now it seems like there is enough data to paint a picture that appears to fit well enough to warrant investigation. In the 90's not so much, so I guess they focused on the other aspects of the theory explained in their first book (which is an incomplete picture but still very relevant).

And yes @blig-blug the Paleolithic vs Neolithic is probably arbitrary to some degree. Thank you for pointing that out. I should probably just say ancient sacred site with a preference for megaliths/quartz rich geology such as granite. I think I mention Neolithic because that is the era (I think after 10,000 BC?) where megalithic construction materials were mostly added (likely built on top of Paleolithic sites at times) and I just wasn't aware of anything older than that besides gobekli tepe. Springs would be a good sign. I'm sure a lot of ancient sites work but the ones with large quartz rich construction seem generally more effective.
I checked the site I would have accessible during the summer, and it looks like some elements like the burial mounds are neolithic indeed. The rest is paleolithic. I agree it's likely that many of these places have continuity.

I have been reading a book on the concept of sacred forest and tree in Western Europe (but mostly focused in the north of Spain, just because that's where the author is from). It looks like many communities have been structured around a tree or forest for a long time. Sometimes there are even paleolithic remains in the area, although it's hard to know if they already considered trees there to be special. When the tree died, a new one was planted (sometimes there was already a successor planted that by then could even be centuries old). In many cases, churches were built next to these trees, and Christian cemeteries placed in the old burial grounds. It was also the place for the elders of the place to gather and take decisions, and there are many magical/religious traditions, varying from place to place. Some of them (particularly yews) were so large that a group of people could meet inside their hollow trunk!

In general, it was interesting (as the author pointed out) how these beliefs aren't too different from Amazonian or Yoruba beliefs, and they were quite alive for a lot of people in Europe until the last century. In some places, old people still remember having been told about them as children. So it's interesting how current Western culture goes out of its way to appropriate caricatures of Amazonian beliefs and such, where if they wanted to, they could look into their own recent heritage, without any need to do dubious reconstructions of pre-Roman beliefs. I do think that these beliefs have also been lost forever, as they belong to a way of understanding the world that has been uprooted and disappeared, but still would make more sense to me.

Unfortunately, in Spain most of these trees started being destroyed during the 19th century, and most of them (but not all) have been lost. In Normandy a large number of sacred yews have been preserved close to churches.

This is only tangentially related (sorry for the offtopic, I got carried away), but tripping next to one of these special centenary (or even millennary in some cases) trees that seem to have been deity, burial, temple, and town hall all in one, could be very special. Even if only from the knowledge of what they represented.

Here's a 1300 year old yew tree in Northern Spain, next to a medieval hermitage (younger than the tree!):

And here's a famous millennary one in Normandy, it has a chapel inside:

I can absolutely agree with that, having tripped in the vicinity of and inside old growth forests. You can feel their presence, it's like being in the company of an ancient, infinitely wise grandfather with countless stories to tell, and bottomless goblets of wisdom to pour from. Truly special. I also remember one instance of being on about 300ug of LSD and stumbling upon a 200-year old tree that got cut down recently in a park in my city. Seeing the stump, and feeling the absence of its shade and vibrancy, devastated me emotionally. I cried on that stump for maybe 30 minutes before I had to move on. Losing old trees like that hurts me a lot, but I do understand the need sometimes, when they start losing structural stability and become a danger to people under them.

What rocks was your friend referring to regarding the "crab"?
He didn't specify rock type, but inferred that he could see it in all rocks. And I vividly remember a trip I had with my brother, the writeup of which exists here on the forum, where I spent maybe 10 minutes staring at some rocks, and for a split second I saw some crab-like texture slithering through the unbelievably beautiful rock surface. But then I got occupied with being an emotional support for my brother who was going through fresh trauma and the crab-gazing fell further down in my priorities at the time. I haven't had an opportunity to revisit this since because I haven't worked with LSD in a while.

In any case, I'll start looking online for an amethyst or quartz piece that I can buy for a reasonable price. I need to experiment with this, my curiosity won't leave me alone! :D

Those are some big trees! Gathering inside the trunk sounds incredible. It's unfortunate that the landscape has changed so much. A lot of these sacred sites in Europe, from what I understand, would have been in the middle of forests back in the day, but many have since been cut down.

It's funny you bring this up because my friend recently claimed to notice fields around plants after smoking cannabis in the months after a few resonance sessions. I had kind of brushed it off tbh but then the other day during our session, once I was in a semi-coherent state and seeing stable fields around her and the crystal, we moved to the kitchen and turned a bright light on so that I could show her the beautiful flowers my wife had brought home. I was just admiring the beauty when she pointed out the fields around them. Sure enough there was some kind of clear and slightly purplish field coming off of the plants. It only extended about and inch or so out, and looked kind of like a heat haze but the geometry of its edges matched the plant giving it a neat little force-field look. We both agreed on where they extended to. I then remembered that a few other people who have been testing this protocol have reported seeing fields around plants and especially larger trees/forests but I hadn't really paid attention till recently, as I've mostly been doing stuff at home with a very large amethyst cathedral as of late. Anyways I have no idea what those fields are but they were very noticeable for the entirety of the trip.

I hope to visit the Redwoods someday and do a bit of tree-gazing (and of course hugging)

And also, everyone please feel free to post whatever you'd like in this thread that might be related to all this.

I'm interested to hear how it goes! Just be careful of the fake amethyst out there (if you google what it looks like first then it is easy to spot)
