I've read that some people have successfully used camping fuel (Coleman - naphtha, Primus Powerfuel - heptane, etc.) as a cheap non-polar solvent source. However, these fuels contain anti-corrosion additives. I don't know much about chemistry, but a cursory read on the subject revealed that there is quite a wide range of substances used for this purpose, some of which are toxic or carcinogenic. (Also, Coleman fuel may contain green dye which may color the spice)
Does anyone know whether it is safe to use these camping fuels for extracting DMT? More exactly, what substances they contain, whether they may contaminate the spice and whether they may be harmful?
Where I live, lighter fluid is about ten times as expensive as these.
