Here lately I have gotten bark from 3 places and I only extract plant material and no good stuff. Could it possibly be that I use a magnetic stirrer for aqueous solution and base? I dont use the stirrer after I add my solvent either. Starting to cost alot with no gain and not sure what I should do from here.

Can you take a photo of the bark? So we can judge the color and consistency. Seems unlikely you'd hit three separate scams in a row though.

Magnetic stirring won't harm anything. What tek are you following, can you describe exactly everything you've tried?

I use cybs salt tek

Water bath of 120 degrees fahrenheit throughout the whole extraction.

1 hour in aquaous solution
( 200ml water & 60ml of vinegar )

1 hour in base
( 100ml water & 30g salt )
( 200ml cold water & 50g sodium hydroxide )
( 50ml clean naphtha and rolling after each layer seperates )
( Decant naphtha into pyrex baking dish with water proof seal )
( Freeze precipitate for 8-10 hours )

I'm just a new guy and I've only done a couple of extractions myself but I really enjoy helping people if I can

after spending many hours reading all the teks and people's comments on the threads from over the years I think what you may benefit from doing is leaving it for more than one hour in the base they say it will help to break down the plant material, I'm thinking especially since your bark does not appear super finely ground

I have pdf instructions from the supplier of my bark suggesting you should mix the layers up and let them separate a few times although I'm not certain that should be necessary

How much bark do you use with the other volumes you mentioned, perhaps not enough sodium hydroxide to reach the desired ph? Chemistry is amazing but tbh most of it is still over my head lol

That color looks right to me though i do wish you luck

Definitely need to coffe grind that bark down into a real dust.

Also i would stir/shake the mix with naptha atleast 5times of 2minutes. Let it settle for overnight and then remove to freeze.

Bark looks good bru. I would use caustic soda instead of the hydroxide. Definitely need to coffe grind that down into a real dust.

caustic soda is just the domestic name for sodium hydroxide / lye / NaOH.

Caustic soda is literally exactly the same as sodium hydroxide. You ought to think twice about offering anyone any advice about chemistry if you don't realise this.

Your phrasing here could be misinterpreted as suggesting that coffee grinding the sodium hydroxide would be beneficial. That's probably not what you meant, but it's still worth pointing out that there's absolutely no reason to powder caustic soda, and any resulting dust would likely be very hazardous.

Please take more care with your posts in order to prevent this kind of misinterpretation from happening.

Anyone have any ideas what could be going wrong? I get white crystals almost every pull, but it doesnt do much.
Could be your vaping technique, but you'll need to tell us in clear and precise detail for a chance of troubleshooting that.

I use an Orbit 2.0 on 2.8v. I melt the spice down carefully and heat it moderately until I can tell its rolling then let off, and pulse it on and off accordingly.

The good news is, if it is real bark and I haven't gotten anything out of it, then its still in there. Personally I like Gordotek for it's quick turnover and very easy. GL

If it is the bark you could get consistent yields from growing your own sources. Phalaris seeds purchased from neurobloom or Grasshoppers is on my shopping list personally. I prefer using ACRB, I like the extra NMT and if i want pure DMT i can separate using acetone

Well Phalaris is a grass, should be fast. I think you can harvest it repeatedly cutting it back and it has some of the best yields

I've never had purple or pinkishness not be an indicator of potency.

Of course correlation does not have to be causation.

I've never had any bark that didn't work.

I just did a re-x on my last spice and im pulling alot of plant material like over half. What could I do to minimize the plant material on the first pull?

Try this🧐:
I used two stainless steel boiling pots ,a portable induction cooker, 25ml pipette, large glass stir rod, a quart jar, a two gallon bucket and a five gallon bucket. Oh and a very large round Pyrex pie dish. Begin by putting your Pyrex into the freezer, that's it's new home. Cover it with something. Preferably another pyrex the same shape and size flipped upside down.

1000g whole rootbark beaten with a 2lb mallet in the bag that it was mailed in -that was put into a pillowcase, until it was flat. Emptied completely into a 4g capacity stainless steel pot and add about half a gallon of distilled water and froze it solid. Thawed it out and removed the bark letting it strain of course, and did a coarse grind for all of it filling the ninja up several times to get through all of it never filling the ninja more than a third and dumping each fill back into the water. grind each fill for ten seconds. I added the rest of the gallon of water and froze it solid again. Thawed it completely and froze it solid a third time. Thawed it enough to easily break it into manageable pieces by removing the block and hitting it with a hammer on a nonabsorbant surface(the surface is a secret). I filled the ninja halfway with the frozen pieces adding a portion of another gallon of water to each fill and blended for 30 seconds each time(no risk of heat damage it's all frozen). Each time I opened the ninja it looked like whipped cream or shaving cream and came out like that, one blop and scoop out the rest, until all of the ice block was done and a second gallon of water had been added. Now wait until your pot full of whipped cream turns purple and becomes a floating layer of pulp. Takes a couple hours. Remove the pulp layer by scooping into a strainer over your liquid and putting it to the side to gently pour off the purple clear layer into another stainless steel pot that holds a couple of gallons and add the pulp back into the bottom lavender layer that you didn't pour out with the clear layer. Now you have two pots, solubles and insolubles and you get the two gallon bucket and add a gallon of water and slowly add 500g of sodium hydroxide stirring with a glass rod wearing gloves goggles and a respirator. Stay away from the vapor. Let that bucket completely cool and keep the two pots refrigerated. Once cooled to at least room temp add a gallon of water to your insolubles and basify both using the lye water from the bucket. Use it all. Once basified put the clear pot on the induction cooker set lowest keep warm temp 120°. Takes almost an hour to get to temp. Once it's there add your naptha. I was adding about a 2/3 of a cup to the pot and stir in figure 8s gently for thirty seconds and let sit five mins and repeat for half an hour. Pipette off as much as you can cleanly and before you begin to get it dirty use a stainless steel ladle to gently push straight down below the surface and capture the remaining naptha - adding it to a separate container that you keep separate from the clean pull. Pipette the dirty scoops out of the ladel. .. after three pulls like this there shouldn't be anything left.

Dump spent waste into a five gallon bucket and get the insoluble pot. I took the slurry pot and removed the pulp with a salad tosser and put it back into the ninja for one last thirty second smoothie which destroyed the pulp proper and added back to the pot. Be careful doing this. Pour the pot into the smaller pot to heat on the induction cooker. Then repeat the pull process. Combine the clean pulls and combine the dirty pulls, cleaning them as much as possible. do a partial reduction . Once about half of it has evaporated open the freezer and uncover the empty frozen pyrexes and pour the two into the frozen pyrex. Wait 12 hrs.
