Since I can't post in the actual thread yet, I guess I have to post here for help. Anyways, I recently built a key and tried it out but all I got from it was a burned thumb :cry:. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to correctly use this? Thanks!
 
1. Put herb on screen.
2. Put spice on herb.
3. Twist on the top section.
4. Put flame to hole and inhale.

Eezy Peezy.
 
Hmmm. That's what I did, minus the spice, but when I inhaled, the flame disappeared. I tried several more times to get it to work, and I was able to get the flame to go inside the key for a couple seconds without going out. But the stuff inside didn't even look like it was even heated up at all. Wat do?
 
You need to hold the lighter further away from the screen. When the water/air bubbles up from inhaling it tends to put the flame out. It works best about half an inch below the screen and about two inches out. Just keep practicing with the distance and location. You'll get it. ;)
 
Alright, I did what you told me to do and it worked. I was able to keep the flame inside the whole time but it still isn't heating up the stuff inside at all. Do I just need to practice more?
 
you can try a couple of things.

one is inhale REALLY slow. the slower you the more heat passes through the chamber.

the other option is to push the top screen (on the removeable top piece) inside a little further.
 
*sigh* I still haven't gotten it yet, but I will keep on trying hahaha. I guess I am just destined to fail... :cry:
 
Are you trying to smoke strait spice out of it? If so, do you have a copper mesh screen in there?

Have you tried vaping anything else out of it? Maybe try it without water to see if that helps.. Or a lighter with a bigger flame?

Or if nothing else, take some pics of what you have so far so we can see if something is off somewhere.
