Using Dmt to change the world

[endlessness]

Be specific, not generic.

[nen888]

..i know of people who, after graced with the beauty of DMT, continue to act out their exploitive, greed-orientated, addicted, dark lifestyles..

without some kind of philosophical, ethical, methodological or spiritual basis, i don't think DMT, any entheogen, or even the re-appearance of the Messiah, will 'change the world'..

Where is your Courage? Why do some of you insist we continue to be repressed and live in fear of the consequences of spreading our wisdom?

As others have said, don't you know what happened in the 60's ? Learn from history...

Furthermore, and as already pointed out, psychedelics are not for everyone. Nowdays, with the internet, there is no excuse for not knowing if you're someone who's interested. It is that freedom that we must preserve. The people interested in this sort of stuff will find their way to the information.

We are already blazing the path.. think of it as a bottom-up approach where individuals are being turned on individually all over the world. This is accelerated by the spreading of information.

Perhaps I'm placing too much emphasis on the Internet here, having grown up on a Western country and with Internet access since my mid teens. To me it opened up many new worlds, not just psychedelics. I'm sure others have similar stories.

Let's continue exploring and producing quality information and guidelines for those that come after. And let's not forget how important it is to keep our freedoms.. there are many that would try to regulate all aspects of our lives and get rid of anyone who deviates from what is socially acceptable.

Proselytizing, it seems to me, is not the optimal strategy now. The word 'drug' is too fixed in most people's mind, the fruit of endless propaganda. Most people are not even aware of altered states of consciousness and the possibilities contained in them..

I'd like as much as you to have everyone see these altered states, really!.. but realize that the vast majority of people don't share our fascination with exploring the mind, reality. To someone who's not seen these things, it sounds like mad talk.

I once held a sign in the most crowded place on campus a few hours per day, a few days per week, for a few months. The sign said "NCSU Psychonauts". It was a group that met to talk about and share accounts of psychedelic experiences. I would stand and talk to anybody who had inquiries about psychedelics.

I don't particularly agree with the view that psychedelics will eventually be spread throughout society solely as a result of people's self-initiated curiosity. I believe that there are social lines over which knowledge of the benefits of psychedelics will not cross unless responsible users with a decent message cross them. From my experience, most people don't even know that people still use LSD, and the ones that do know that it's out there have no idea what the experience is really about. A majority of people still see psychedelics as something dangerous and/or immoral, and are never going to initiate the type of curiosity that endlessness speaks of unless they encounter something as assertive as a guy holding a sign in public.

The conversations that I had with people, while holding that sign on campus, were wonderful, and I often felt that people left me with a more positive outlook on psychedelic drugs and the psychedelic experience. These are people who might otherwise go their entire lives not knowing that they can experience oneness with an eternally loving cosmic consciousness. All it takes is one person to tell them something that they enjoyed about psychedelics, or one way in which psychedelics have changed their life, to make a person question everything they've ever been told about the pitfalls of psychedelic drugs. Their lives might be changed forever. That's why I think it's worth trying to spread the word as much as possible.

Let's continue exploring and producing quality information and guidelines for those that come after.

Yep.

Probably the most important (and most realistic) goal we can aim to is defeating the corporate legal enforcement and the obscurantism.

When research and information finally makes keeping people away from substances like DMT virtually impossible, when trying to control the natural and accessible sources of entheogens becomes absurd, when disinformation is well countered by proper data and research, when and if that happens, we win.

FutureMan, you assume every other person is basically like you. And that may be good hearted, but it's naive.

I think the goal is not giving it to the world, is making the world ready to take it.

[The Maxx]

Where is your Courage? Why do some of you insist we continue to be repressed and live in fear of the consequences of spreading our wisdom? Will none help me to blaze this path?

This is quite judgmental of you, don't you think? We who enjoy DMT have been blazing this path of yours, but through the backdoor. Slow infiltration of various wanderers (us) who "stumble upon" DMT is much more effective than an explosion of "DMT for everyone" . Did you not read the post singing the praises that this website is doing just that? We don't want DMT to be reported on the nightly news as a new party drug: have you seen articles when people get busted extracting or whatnot? The articles are full of misinformation and just plain sloppy reporting, comparing DMT to meth and all that garbage.

You can "spread your wisdom" all you like, but keep it legal (yes, I know we all break the law when extracting, but no need to paint a giant glowing arrow over you that says: "Arrest Me, Please") . Does the indigenous shaman run to the city capitol and urge all the people to ingest Ayauhasca, or do those who choose to walk this path seek out the shaman?

Nice.

[Cosmic_Reality]

This whole thing needs to be thought out step by step. We cant afford negative mainstream attention, it will ruin everything. Like most of the folks here said, "Let it happen naturally"
I'd say the one of the most important things is this website, and the information it contains. Of course more is needed, but we have to have a solid foundation first, before we worrying about changing public opinion about Psychedelics.

[Electric Kool-Aid]

Try to do things like grow more psychedelic plants. Spread the access to the plants more. We need to save the world right? Do it from the inside out. Imagine if in every city, every town, every country there was these wild plants and domestic plants that had psychedelic qualities to them, then it wouldnt be hard to start something then, because it is already around. Another one is splice and graft plants to other plants, where you can make a new plant that has psychedelic qualities to it. I used to think this years ago. Graft a tomato plant to a marijuana plant and you would have ripe juicy pot tomatos!!

Side note:
Did you know: you can graft a Hops plant to a Marijuana plant?? YES! Then you could make Pot beer!

[FutureMan]

I must concede something. Perhaps my vision as i first described it was too heavily dependent on psychedelics in general, and dmt in particular as the catalyst of change. While i do not recall my opinion that dmt has almost infinite potential as a tool for the genesis of that change, i do realize it doesent stand alone nor is it a panacea, a cure all to the worlds ills. This cure is the force that is created when a gift is given to another, whether it be dmt, lsd, or some wisdom to better another life, or anything that creates a positive experience to whomever it is gifted.Hopefully it inspires them to in turn spread the positivity gleaned from that experience to others. This force is known as love, or the positive energy of the universe.I still belive in the need to found an order of teachers and guides, traveling gurus and shamen, to help lead people towords a path conductive to love. We Need to be Peaceful Samurais of Shambhala

Yep, brilliant. Sort of the Johnny Appleseed of entheogens. I like to collect pot seeds, any pot seeds, dirt weed or chronic, and just toss them around in overgrown plots for sale, abandoned properties, and general places that remain undisturbed. If something grows, awesome, if not, maybe a bird will eat the seed and poop it somewhere else to grow. Why toss a seed in the ashtray when you can plant it somewhere and plant it.

If I had money, I would definitely get some mimosa and caapi plants and plant them wherever I could. Even though I don't live in the proper climate, maybe one of the plants would adapt to its surroundings and spread. Syrian rue is now considered an invasive species in Arizona, Nevada, parts of California, and New Mexico (though, of course, those climates are suited to syrian rue) . Thank you whoever planted that first rue plant! Shame I don't live on the west coast, I would love to harvest rue seeds from the source.

Imagine if some enterprising geneticist managed to splice the kudzu vine with marijuana. The powers that be would have say, "Houston, we have a problem . . ."

But, dang, pot watermelons! That would be amazing!

[Bud Shizzler]

I would advise to only talk about it to people who you consider open to psychedelics in general. and nobody is being helped by describing how awesome your experiences were (im not acusing anyone) but rather WHAT your experiences were and how they integrated into your normal life. also important not to advertise substances in the week(s) following the experience, because your are some kind of blinded by enlightenment. I argued in favor of LSD in front of my family and that was reasonably stupid, i regretted it a week later. Not for bringing it up, but the way i brought it up simply was not effective for persons that aren't willing to travel a psychedelic path.

But encourage and support those who do! Gather enough knowledge before yourself, so we dont have to read any more news story about psychotic teens. Its indeed not the substance itself that teaches, it's the whole experience! That includes Set/Setting in the same way as substance!
One should never pressure or urge someone who is not familliar with dmt to taking it. That was my first experience and cut off my breaktrough because the person was looking at me like he expected something. that distracted me just in the moment i saw dem patternzz moving.
your motives aren't questioned in any way, your method is. But you are right in the way that the world could turn to the better through psychedelics. but that will not happen fast, but very slow. The amount of open mined people will steadily rise. That is because every new generation tends to destroy the boundaries that the previous 'set up'. Educate, not Advertise. change is immanent!

[FutureMan]

Hello again, all you amazing people here at the nexus. So, i have been carefully considering all of your responses to my post, and must say i have come to the conclusion that my vision needs to be modified . In my fervor and passion to reach out and change the world, i just posted everything strait from my mind to the computer without proofreading and giving myself time for a more in-depth analysis. For i now realize that my original Excalibur,Psychedelics, are, for all their potential and greatness, only a tool and a means to achieve an end, just like that mythical sword. For what would Excalibur have been to King Author but just a piece of metal without the skill and wisdom to put it to good use? In the right hands such powerful tools can help achieve wonderful things, but could also potentially cause great harm used by those who are inexperienced or have a nefarious agenda. Sometimes discretion is the better part of valor. Knowing the right time to use or not use the tools at your disposal is key to success. In this i agree with you endlessness and those that hold similar opinions. I still feel like more clarification is needed, so as time permits ill respond to everyone's posts so as to hopefully better impart the message i wish to communicate. Just imagine if you would an organization of people devoted to spreading love to others? Picture an equivalent of the Jedi from Star Wars, people from all walks of life with a plethora of different skills, all working towards increasing the overall love in the universe. More will be forthcoming soon

[FutureMan]

I MUST reiterate, however, that while perhaps not dramatic, at the very least decisive action is called for if change is to happen. As i said, we have the tools, but the people with the wisdom and skill to use them must come forth! Let us, those who have tapped this power before be the ones to project the positivity, the love, and teach others to tap into into it and do the same. Anything that creates positivity is helpful, the simple act of being in a good mood can be infectious and brighten the day of those around you. A smile and a kind word can change someones day for the better. And while these small things are needed, large-scale undertakings will also be called for. And we must not rule out the power of Psychedelics, just use their power with discrimination and careful planning. I know Dmt when used in a proper set and setting, has, as stated before, enormous potential power. We will just have to become ninja-shamens, masters of subtly and controlling energies, able to change negativity into positivity through our wisdom and love It will take all the tools at our disposal

"tbh, i think that LSD shouldn't be for the masses. I don't think that psychadelics should be easy to get and should only be approached in a spiritual manner. I have taken acid for fun before but one particular experience gave me a connection with the universe that would be impossible to recreate. I think psychadelics and IN PARTICULAR LSD AND DMT should be kept for those who approach them in a sensible manner. Might sound arrogant but keep marijuana for the masses, not LSD."
Snozzleberry wrote:
"so who determines this? who is the gatekeeper? You? It's certainly not me. No, all of these substances are for whoever seek them out and approach them with respect and responsibility. Perhaps if the masses were better educated/weren't bombarded with false propaganda they would approach these substances with more respect. Your line doesn't sound arrogant, it sounds poorly thought out. If the masses were properly educated, and approached these substances with respect, you would have no qualms, according to your own post. So clearly the problem is not with the masses themselves, but with the misinformation the masses have been fed."

So perhaps the first thing we should set out to do is educate people, to disseminate true information rather than misinformation, and love rather than fear and anger. As i mentioned tho, subtly is key! I myself almost made the mistake of taking to direct a course, but was thankfully dissuaded from that path. We must proceed with all caution, yet proceed we must, lest the momentum that has already started to build turn stagnant and be wasted

We have the power, each and every one of us, but not individually. the key is to awaken the light and the love in your fellows, so they too may continue to spread it!

That's the spirit

We are all masters of this world and simply by participating we make change. Positive, loving, and helpful is what this world needs. Oh, and a reality-check for those with the blinders up!

I try only to be honest when it comes to psychedelics. Give factual information and call people out on their bullshit, everyone benefits.

also it would be cool if i could post in other parts of the forums soon. i feel as i have some useful things to share in topics not under open discussion. ive been a part of the nexus for years but as an observer only. only recently have i become as passionately inspired as i am, and so felt the need to take up an active roll in the online community

[FutureMan]

I am of course open to any and all suggestions!!! I love you all!
