VG VaporGenie: How to use, where to get, advantages, etc

Ok, so I tried vaping some DMT in my GVG and I had some problems. I made the little copper pad thing and put the dmt on top of it. I then put the flame(turboarc torch) pretty much into the bowl and I saw all the dmt just melt and go right thru the copper pad. I then started inhaling as fast as I can and I held what little vapor there was for about 10 seconds. I then exhaled and didn't really see any vapor come out. I then layed down and closed my eyes and got some light CEV's for about 2 minutes.

I'm guessing that I put the flame to far into the bowl to fast and the DMT got to hot to fast and just melted? Should I keep the flame farther away from the bowl and let it heat up slowly?

Thoughts on this please. I don't want to waste anymore spice.

Inhale easier, but on other hand you should try making it more thick and pressed, also make sure it's perfect fit to the bowl size(not too small or big). It takes a bit practice to find the perfect sized screen.

Don't inhale as fast as possible, try to take a nice long slow toke. If you pull to fast you are pulling a lot of air through.

The DMT is meant to melt into the copper screen before vaping, it will still be in there somewhere.

I take about 10 secs to take my hit, so I think 3secs might be a bit quick. Just give it time and a few trials and you will get it down.

Ok got it. I guess there is nothing I can really do except keep trying and learning.

You can always clean the pipe with a clean evaporating organic solvent like IPA or something. This will dissolve the spice that has stuck to the bend in the pipe and after pouring out the solvent on a surface it can be evaporated away, leaving your 'lost' product.

In my own experience, flame actually into the ceramic causes the dmt to turn dark brown and inhaling too hard too fast causes the liquid which is supposed to be vaporizing to be drawn into the smoke chamber. Cleaning and reclaiming with 99 IPA is easy, but better to just draw in slow and steady maybe?

Didn't read that you were doing the little pre melt 4 second draw just to melt the spice into the scrubber. Someone had mentioned the spice vaped easier after melting so I always make sure that step isn't skipped. As soon as I see the spice melt into the scrubber, flame off, I wait a little bit, collect my thoughts, breath and then go for it. I never let the flame touch the glass or the stone and I launch every single time. 3 seconds to inhale is probably another reason for your misfire, like the others have said, I too think it is at least 10 seconds of pulling that produces a vapor filled chamber, after the premelt of course.

I personally don´t have any experience with the "Bat" VG model...

...but...

I do have an experience with the Glass Sherlock VG (GVG). I didn´t believe all the glory rhapsodized in behalf of the GVG until I finally ordered and tried one.

I cannot give you any solid proof except my own experience: it REALLY works better than any other method I used so far (being it bong, crack pipe, bulb-style-vaporizer...).

These days I can breakthrough with 19-22mg in single inhalation which really means efficiency and saved DMT. All one needs is proper technique... When I was beginning to use the GVG I needed bit more material but these days I can breakthrough with less. It's so efficient that it used to be scary

I dont have enough to switch from the Bat to the shirlock I looked at the two, they dont seam to differnt. But I just hope I can vape DMT correctly....

My only experience is with the sherlock but they ^^^ talk about the bat here

I can only attest to the Sherlock's ability to function as you want it to, each time, every time using Gibran2's copper mesh advice. When I ordered my money was very tight too, but I waited until the I had enough for the sherlock with the hard case. I have regretted spending money in the past, this was NOT one of those times.

If they haven't dispatched your item ask if you can trade it to a wooden CARVED vaporgenie, I guarantee it's better for DMT than the bat.

Doesn't the picture of the bat in the bat discussion look like a LOT of "wasted" material stuck all over the inside? I know you can recover it as oxide, but isn't that what I;m seeing? Is it less efficient (most likely) or? Please understand I'm not picking on a specific piece, just curious what other nexians think. Especially you tele. Thanks

so are you saying its ok to touch my flame to the ceramic? I have gotten the technique down pretty good but I still have yet to break through with it, I find that the first times i hit it, it doesnt heat up enough and so i end up taking 4-5 hits before i have to put the thing down.

If your taking 4-5 hits you ain't got the technique down yet, you should be clearing it in a single hit.

Heating the ceramic is fine, I heat it till it glows then start to slowly pull, while I'm pulling I bounce the flame up and down so the ceramic glows then stops, glows then stops. This seems to work a treat.
