VG VaporGenie: How to use, where to get, advantages, etc

Hey, guys. I recently bought a classic Vapor Genie and put a extra copper filter into it so the DMT wouldn't melt through. After getting the basics of how to use it I tried it out and it seemed to give me weak results. I was wondering if there is anything I could do to get the best results out of this. Thanks! So fortunate to have a website like this and grateful for what help i have received with the short time Ive been here :d
 
I have the classic vaporgenie and have no problems blasting off here is my method.

First I put a few extra screens down to stop the dmt going through them and also i put a bed of herbs on top of the screens. I've used parsley before but I've moved on to mint these days :lol:
Then I put my spice on top of the herbs and top back on the vg.

Then place your flame above the genie start to inhale slowly getting gently faster.
You gotta kinda judge it I can tell when the deemster is being vaped because i can feel it in my throat. At this point inhale all I can and hold it in for as long as I can normally between 10-20 secs. You should have no problem balsting off using that method :thumb_up:
 
i have a regular vg but use now only for mj since getting the gvg, theres a huge difference in amount of smoke u get between the 2, but it is deffenitly usable. first only 2 screens might not be enough, usually should have 5 or 6 to keep the dmt from melting through so i usually used with some herb like mullein or pepermint. The regular vg can be tricky to get the technique down perfect which usually will take practice, esp with regular lighters. but i found torch lighters to get better results by placing it directly above the bowl about an inch or 2 away, light and inhale to get the ceramic filter cooking and about after 2 seconds pull it up few inches so doesnt burn. Inhale slowly but not too slow, after taking as much as u can with each hit count and hold in for 10 seconds..psyanara
 
I have both CVG and GVG. Even with 6 screens I got considerable melt through. The solution was a Choreboy, then I was able to get full intended dosage. With no Choreboy and even 6 screens I was wasting 200mg+ and only getting mild effects. Also, get a torch lighter, I ended up burning a lot of spice with a bic.
 
Yeah, I shoved two medium-thick pieces of choreboys in there and gonna purchase a torch lighter. Should be good to go :thumb_up:

I am planning on getting the Sherlock GVG as soon as possible (probably within two weeks). I'm pretty sure it'll end up costing me a bit more with the customs fee, but in the end I'm actually glad it isn't even more expensive, considering the prices of some quality glassware.

One thing I have noticed is that people seem to be somewhat divided on the choice of lighter to be used with GVG's. Most seem to be leaning towards using torch lighters, but the VaporGenie website specifically states that these should not be used since they could crack the glass. Could anyone elaborate on this? Is it just a matter of technique to safely use these torch lighters with the GVG?

I use a torch lighter with the GVG, and everything is OK. What I can say is that I aim the flame at the ceramic filter, perpendicular to it, and barely lick the entrance of the top bowl with it. In dim lights it's easy to see how the ceramic filter starts to glow, and I take that as the hint to switch off the lighter.

Maybe if you used a very strong lighter, and aimed it right at the glass, and the temperature of the GVG was low (or if you had terrible luck) you might crack it. I remember reading a report or two about that happening, but afaik that's very uncommon.

if you examine the top of your vapor genie you'll notice very small cracks, these grow in time depending on how often it's used but they are certainly there!
 
Hey so was all set to blast off for the first time so i packed my brand new VG with 50mg of spice, closed up the top and sat back, note for a lighter im using a zippo blu, not the best for this but a great lighter none the less! after a few minuets of failing i gave up opened the chamber to notice the spice has gone (melted but still in the bottom of the bowl.)

stupidly to check if it had just vanished i glanced over the screens the lighter and poof a cloud of very nasty smelling smoke ( i assume dmt?)

so!

What is the best way to light with the VG? the ceramic plate seems too far down to be lighting with a torch?

are you supposed to light the plate directly or the side of the chamber?

Note i whacked in 9 screens when i got it as per many peoples recommendation.

i plan to try again in a short while but would like some pointers first :)
 
:) ok so now using 3 screens + some stainless steel scrubbers then 2 more screens,

Might try and replace the scrubber with some weed/herb!

one thing though i just took a smaller 30mg dose and im finding it very harsh, to the point where i cant hold it. and this is with 2/3 pulls rather then one long breath,

Any ideas?

There was a thread you could read that has the answers to the problems your having, but I can't remember which one it is:p

got the method sorted out just have to get used it.


Dont smoke/vape anything normally and its pretty harsh!
