Visual Distortion Experiment

When I was but a wee young lad, I had a mushroom trip that had some of the most incredible visuals I've ever seen. An entire field of dandelions, all moving about, rotating their flowers about all individually, among several other mindblowing things.

I've wondered in recent times with the advent of digital cameras, what would happen if one was to view these 'visuals' while tripping on the camera/smartphone screen? Would one see the same visuals or would the screen just represent 'normal' reality?

I just had a DMT experience with some cool static pattern overlay, initially my legs were entirely BLACK and as the trip faded the black turned into a cool leopard print sort of pattern. I decided now was the time and ran to the other room to grab my digicam, but by the time I made it back to my tripping space the visuals had faded and I was no longer seeing the cool pattern. Which I almost had a feeling was going to happen and thought I should be just better prepared next time, but each trip is so different for the most part. Seems like you never know what you're going to get, like a box of chocolates.

Anyways, of course taking this one step further what would happen if one was to do this as well as press the shutter button? The logical mind says absolutely nothing and you'd just come out with a 'regular picture' of whatever... but still the curiosity remains, at the very least what would be shown on the screen while seeing whatever you are seeing. If anyone is interested and happens to have a camera/smartphone on them while in the space, please do indulge us.

Curiosity is good, but what is the end goal of this experiment?
Just look into abhidharma and eye consciousness if you want to logically understand it.
It had been researched to the bone by monks for thousands of years. Whatever you see depends on a number of factors.
What I observe is another level of disconnect in the western mindset. We created a new religion called science, and we even found our new god in Technology.
Plant medicines are here to restore our connection to Nature, not to create another level of illusion.
Just wanted to give my angle on this. All the best with your research.
Peace.

The end goal of this experiment is to discern whether or not these visual phenomena are part of the 'reality' we are seeing and are able to be 'seen' by things other than us. I'm the last person to be worshipping science or technology but still the urge to know this is there. That mushroom trip showed me that nature is indeed alive and sentient, I don't see how wanting to know how things would appear on a digital screen to detract from that.

Reality is a shaky concept. In the end, it's you who is seeing.
Objective knowledge is quite overrated, because it's always subjective in the end.
Digital screen is another level of abstraction on reality. It's govern by scientific theories and software algorithms.
I'd say that it's a filter on reality. But for sure you can get some conclusions from this abstraction too.
We are a much more advanced technology. Like, we can reconstruct a digital camera from scratch, but we can't make a human from scratch.
Nature is on another level of complexity from our feeble intellectual capacity.
I was just trying to get this thread going. Hope others reply from their perspective too.
Curiosity is always respected & appreciated.

That's what I meant by reconnecting to Nature.
I don't see how wanting to know how things would appear on a digital screen to detract from that.
If you see a screen in a video game or a dream, how does it relate to the reality of that dream?
What can you say about being awake from the dream? Would the dream screen still matter?

Just take a picture next time and see what happens. Who knows what is in store for you…
