swim did his first extraction using normans tek

first messed up by puting in the pre powdered root bark in before adding lye and water.

and also used 20ml water instead of 15 becouse its pre powdered bark


and when taking naptha out it was not yellow but got rly cloudy when taken out freezer after 3 hours
what could have happened?

So this guy decided to keep going with the Joshisom tek and on the extraction part with skaking with naptha and getting ready for the pull the layer of naptha is piss yellow. What does this mean and where did it go wrong? Is the plant not active.

I used to do MHRB extractions, but I'm now fortunate enough to live in an area where Acacia Confusa is fairly easy to come by. I've only done STB in the past, but now I'll be using The Max Ion tek. My first question is, do I need to dry my bark before doing the extraction? May be a silly question, but there it is. Thanks for any help!

New to the forum but looking for a simple but highly effective tek.

A method I heard would earn good yields? any tips or pointers appreciated

This is just a basic description of the tek.

Ground Bark to fine powder.
Mix deionised water and caustic soda 15ml and 1g per gram of powdered bark.
Add bark to water caustic soda mix. Shake and let sit for 1/2 an hour.
add naphtha 1ml per gram of bark.
agitate the mix for 1 minute then let sit till clear layer on top (seems to happen quite quickly) repeat x4
syphon off naphtha and collect,
repeat add naphtha, agitate and syphon x4 in total
Place naphtha collected in freezer.
Wait overnight filter naphtha through coffee filter whilst still cold, scrape any crystals.
Dry what you have collected in filter.
Evaporate or reuse the rest of naphtha for more extractions.

Then recrystallization to refine using warm bath and naphtha or heptane.

Is there any difference in extracted product between the filtered naphtha and the evaporated naphtha?

DMT is fairly easy to extract. I was wondering what other psychoactive compounds would be easy to extract in small amounts and similar in skill level, to do in a kitchen rather than lab.

I apologize if this has been answered somewhere else. I can't seem to find any information on it.

I have no experience with harmala's, but I have some harmine/harmaline HCI that I want to convert to freebase for smoking. Does anyone know what the best way to do this is?

I read it's not soluble in water so I thought I would basify a solution with sodium hydroxide same as with extracting spice and then pull with hot naphtha. Would this work? And also would I need to freeze precipitate it?

Any answers are welcome. I'm only looking to convert a very small amount. Under 0.5.
