Hi, I've seriously been driving everywhere checking for pure lye but I dont think it exists where I'm at...What are some substitutes or places you get your lye at? I'm seriously at a loss here.
I've found pure Sodium Hydroxide in liquid form at Lowe's called Roebic Drain cleaner. I'm not sure if the liquid kind will work though.
If you go to the plumbing area, it will be in an aisle just outsied of all the plumbing aisles. They kind of hide it. Make sure it's the bottle that isn't in a plastic bag.
Otherwise there are numerous sources online for the stuff.
EDIT:
Ok I did some searching and it looks like the liquid one is no good. But I read that there's a crystal version at Lowe's so keep looking, I'll have to make another trip back!
Although the so-called "Patriot" Act circumvents many of our civil liberties, this particular infraction has come about from the "War on Drugs" that started in the late 60s/early 70s. Literally billions of dollars of our tax money is spent on it with minimal, if any, results.
