Can we measure awareness/consciousness?

Hello everyone a simple question is what i have been thinking of these days is can we measure our own awareness? Have you even in your life experienced that you are more aware of things, your consciousness is more 'alive' than before? What i have experienced in the last couple of days was intriguing and all i can compare it to is waking up.

So I was high on marijuana and something strange in my head, like something snapped. I was in half sleep so it might have been just a dream but after that i could not sleep for a few hours. And i felt awake, more awake than i have ever felt before.

Ever since that time i feel more awake even when i wake up early in the morning i feel more awake than before i had been in midday... And i like it.

So have any of you experienced any of the sort? (not with weed specifically, my main concern is more awareness and if there is a story behind it i am happy to hear it also)

I like to compare my consciousness with a light. Sometimes it shines really bright and sometimes really dull. But it is always growing.
