"Deal With It" ~ the mushroom's bathroom prank

"The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing."

"A single moment of anger can destroy a thousand eons of good deeds."
— Shantideva (A Guide to the Bodhisattva's Way of Life)

You know what's up, and that's enough. You're already on the path to healing it, so just pay attention. Much love ❤️

For what it's worth (and, as usual, that's 'not much') I think we might be being a little tough on the OP here.

I'm not really a prank kind of guy (either giving or recieving) but, to be fair, it's a bit of soap on a wipe-cleanable wall. No big deal. Perhaps OP and his housemates have that kind of relationship, I don't know, but no harm really done.

All that said, I have never felt like doing anything remotely like this on shrooms. Staring out of the window repeating "I love Gaia so much" tends to be more my speed.

Guys, I can take like 5+ grams of mushrooms without being in a ball begging for mercy. However, I have found myself in that predicament with Ayahuasca. And honestly yeah, I'd reccomend it too. Higher doses of shrooms mainly felt like a low to mid end ayahuasca experience but more spread out and less nauseous. I actually have been loving mushrooms lately because they provide a lot of the Ayahuasca benefits at high doses without as many of the drawbacks. It's also a bit of a different vibe so it's been nice to explore a different part of the psychedelic dimension. Most people are more experienced with mushrooms first, but I personally have had way more aya, so it's been nice to do a deep dive into the mushroom lately.

What kind of mushrooms are we talking? Because I ate 1.3g of TTBVI recently and it was one of the most physically challenging psychedelic experiences I've had in a very long time, comparable to the first time I did ayahuasca. And being curled up in a ball and begging for mercy didn't do anything to help because I chose this dose, knowing the potency of what I was ingesting.

I don't have much experience with either yet, but I'm planning on accumulating a decent amount of experience with mushrooms in the coming years, and developing a working relationship with this medicine. It is quite interesting, and quite different than something like LSD.

Liberty caps can get you in the fetal position on 3g+ and it could be as challenging as any aya journey. My highest dose with them was closer to 4g and I lost all vision for a while.
Just going to the bathroom that was 2-3m from me was a trip that I remember to this day. I was crawling and feeling my way in the darkness. Aya could be easier in comparison because of the tendency to purge on higher doses and leveling your state through it. Only when aya is very strong and compacted to a very small dose of liquid would you get a similar result as with say ttbvi - you can't escape the experience.

I stopped counting my experiences many years ago, because it's all about quality, not quantity. I'd say your intent and integrity play the biggest role here. You can judge your progress only by seeing changes in day-to-day life. I enjoyed very high states that did close to nothing to my life and felt empty. Then some low dose of aya that seemingly was a dud would produce a deep opening in my psyche. You need to develop a relationship with your chosen plant and adapt to its energy. Basically, there is no simple answer here.
It's a shamanic kind of work very similar to magic.

I wouldn't mind mushrooms of that kind of strength honestly. Those experiences that bring you to your knees can really be eye opening sometimes. All I've really had access to are cubensis lately honestly.

I think both myself and @Nydex alluded to it. Honestly, I have never tried anything apart from local liberty caps. Reading reports on the net, I see cubensis is a hit-or-miss experience. Even Mexican healers take them as a last resort when everything else is unavailable. The cubensis strain has its place in the West, but they are not the best solution. I would say the same applies to the novel ayahuasca analogs when we combine rue with barks (acacia or mimosa). Yes, these medicines do work, but there are better options out there. Anyhow, one needs a proper relationship with any chosen plant, and it takes years of dedicated work. That is just my own personal experience.

Psilocybe cubensis is it’s own species but it’s not true that in Mexico they are only used as a last resort. It has specific uses, like each species. If you are planning to build a new home for instance a ceremony with cubensis might be used. Kathleen Harrison has covered this topic a bit in a number of her talks/lectures.

Thank you for the clarification as always. I lack real-life experience in these questions, and it shows. I hope my post was not fully misleading.
My main message is that there are alternatives to cubensis that work better as a long-term healing relationship. However, you need to take my word with a big chunk of salt.
Maybe I should make that statement my signature. I can only comment on liberty caps when it comes to mushrooms. Comparing how ayahuasca and analogs work, I made a similar judgment about different mushroom species. Hope it is clear.

It’s not a new world mushroom so it’s perception as somewhat alien is understandable. Maria Sabina afaik did not work with it. It’s known in the region as San Ysidro.

It was enough for these guys…

I would certainly love to try liberty caps if the opportunity arises, but for now I gotta go with what I got access to.

I can say that I somewhat agree about the aya/analogs but I wouldn't say that the analogs are bad medicine by any means... I've had a lot of good stuff happen with rue/acacia and even though it can be hard to get it to work sometimes it's often quite worth it when you get it right. But I do gotta say that any brew I've had with the vine has been something special.

I have it in my head that someday I'm gonna go to the Pacific Northwest on a quest for the legendary "flying saucer" mushrooms variant, azurescens I think they're called.

You got it right. I tend to sound very sure and dogmatic, but that is never my intent. I feel your work highly depends on the relationship with a plant and your intent.
Any of these medicines could do the job. I worked with rue and acacia for years, without seeing any problems. It was fun, but I experienced both very high and very low ungrounded states. Leaves tend to be much more holistic and manageable. Years later, I wonder how I could even drink all these barks. They are much stronger and forceful compared to leaves. Even now, my medicine combo is far from perfect. I am tired of all that nausea and cleansing really. Most likely, I will slowly move towards mushrooms myself. Somehow they feel more organic and compatible with mammal physiology. I appreciate a clean psychedelic opening when the main aim is presence or awareness. This work is so personal that giving any advice feels kind of fake. In the end, it is up to you. Sitting in a strong ceremony, you only have your own wisdom to rely upon.
