Hmm dunno man, maybe better to just clean up the soap streaks after showering? It does strike me as gross that someone elses soapy emulsions are staring at me when I want to use the communal shower. Don't you clean up your shitstreaks when you're done on the toilet everytime?
I can honestly see some of myself in both the housemate getting annoyed by the cleanliness issues, and the OP dismissing their housemate’s concerns, seemingly not wanting to own their impact.
From a Buddhist perspective, the fundamental obscuration to our true nature, which is described as the union of openness and love, or emptiness and compassion, is the quality of ignorance, delusion, or stupidity, depending on the translation, which we all have, to some extent, until attaining full buddhahood (tripping on psychedelics, alone, clearly doesn’t get people there, as Ram Das and company learned through experience, and as demonstrated by the prevalence of narcissistic abuse in the psychedelic space, at large, as opposed to an abundance of awakened Buddhas).
This obscuration to our true nature, which is a defining feature of our shared humanity, is characterized by a sense of cocoon-like separation from others, blinding us to the interdependent dimension of our shared existence.
In my experience, psychedelics can both dissolve and amplify this illusory sense of separation, which is to say that they bring forth both our light and our shadow. Yet, it is from the murky waters of our shadowy depths that the lotus of wakefulness is said to grow. Point being, there seems to be an overemphasis, in the psychedelic space, on integrating the light, and an underemphasis on integrating the shadow.
In the words of Carl Jung:
One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious. The latter procedure, however, is disagreeable and therefore not popular.
