I'm anxious to experience enlightenment

Migrated topic.
Hello DMT Nexus members,

For the past few years I have had a curiosity of substances and their effect on the progression of a person in their life. Over a long period of time doing my homework I have noticed an obvious characteristic with each new substance I research. The different category of substances are un-comparable to one another. Psychedelics in particular have very little relation to what most define as a street drug IMO. DMT having no relation. Where Opiates and other common street drugs tend to be a recreational thing, abused, or a form or escape from reality, psychedelics are reported to offer enlightenment and expansion of consciousness and a never ending list of things it can offer a person when integrated into their daily lives.

Reading and reading I ended up here. My experience with psychedelics is limited to one use of LSD which was a very low dose. With the potential psychedelics have been reported to offer, My curiosity in them has never been so peeked.

SWIM is planning to preform an extraction. He would like to do it as well as is permitted to him with the materials and knowledge the place he resides and the nexus offers.

People mention respect of the molecule being an absolute must. And I feel I do, but am anxious all the same. Patience is my only option as there is no room to rush into such a thing. Is it normal to feel anxious before your first uses?

Thanks for all and any input! :)

It's very normal to feel anxious. Hell, I still feel anxious before smoking it. Thinking about it too. But, if your really searching for enlightenment. This is a shortcut.
I wouldn't try DMT without doing all the research, but you seem to have that covered.

Its 100 percent normal for some anxiousness. Honestly its normal to be anxious before every dose. Your taking a plunge into the unknown but its an amazing experience and I hope you enjoy it.

DMT (or any other psychedelic for that matter) will not necessarily bring you any closer to enlightenment, although they all have the potential to do so...cos it's not what you do, it's the way that you do it*.

The Spice can be a sacrament or it can simply be a weird way to pass the time (though I don't reckon anyone does the latter too many times :)).

Like everyone else has said; it's normal to be anxious the first time, the second time...every time - and that's probably no bad thing!

There are many paths to enlightenment and DMT could be your path, but then again it may not be...

Hope that was helpful :)

*apologies for bringing Bananarama onto the Nexus

ps Bon voyage on your journeys and explorations whichever way you chose to do 'em!

I think there are many ways to approach dmt. I think a slow path of discovery on your own terms is best. Take everyone elses experience with a grain of salt until you start to see it for yourself on your own terms. There is so much to learn.

The truth is that it defies any traditional explanation.
Great religions talk about it and you can stop there if you want and dig on it on that level.
But in my opinion its goes way beyond anything we can imagine.

Containing what it can show you is the challenge.

happy journeys...

Yes, make sure you don't expect anything from the trip. I made this mistake by reading a lot a experience reports. I was having very strong trips but I wasn't involved in them. You need to clear your mind and not think. Let whatever happen, happen and relax. It's only a few minutes but be prepared to feel like you've been gone a while.

Greetings abc1234560,

You are wise to feel some anxiety, since when you have a break-thriough experience, your sense of identity will dissolve/vanish. This is referred to as "ego death" and it is quite frightening (for the ego). As idividuated self is totally shattered, an awareness of indivisible Self is innevitable. Perhaps this is why the ultimate level of consciousness is often referred to as... "The Void"? Void in the sense of NOT having any duality or solidity of form, so to speak. Void, yet, all things and nothing at all. That being said, the result of releasing one's subjectivity is well worth the price for admission! I recall Timothy Leary saying, "You have to loose yourself, to find yourself." So true.

In all of our cases, the indivissible Self we eventually arrive at is God. There is no greater bliss nor any more perfect frequency of pure awareness. Obviously, from this side of the Looking Glass, words are of little use and unable to express much about such an awakening. Still, they can point the way (sort of, kind of.. not really). Trust your own heart and be prepaired to surrender to such a mind-blowing voyage. I have complete faith that with a sinscere desire to transcend finite consciousness, the Light will be revealed to you. Remember one vital issue for all travelers into the realms of psychedelia, the mind will cling tenaciously to it's conceptual fixations, as an instinctual defense mechanism. Let it all go, man. The joy, sorrow, anxiety, confussion, desire, etc... and follow the sound of the Carrier Wave into a union with the Absolute. Look through your mind's eye into the spiralling Grid, as a guide through the various pit stops on the journey. Look for the Light of all lights, for it is your very nature and source. Have faith in the universe and you will do just fine. :d

Peace, love and light!!!

I think the posters above pretty much covered it: Its normal to be anxious, even after having done it many times. DMT experience inspires a lot of respect, we really shouldnt (and cant, at least for too long) take it lightly. Read the Health and Safety section if you havent yet.

In any case I think you have a pretty good attitude towards it.

Good luck! And welcome to the Nexus!

It will never cease to amaze me how different the actual experience is from what I was expecting. Never ever. Hallucination?? LOL!! Not really an accurate term.

I feel you on that one. I too am very anxious with my first time being so close, but i get caught up in the excitement more than anything. i read and read and watch videos and research as much as i can, hell, i even got half way though "DMT: The spirit molecule" in just a couple hours, and i understand what it's going to be like, feeling like you're detached from the flesh and blood that confines you to this realm and nothing but a small invisible rope is holding you down but you can see the metaphysical and actually experience it, but you can't stay there.... yet.
Just remember, it's a short thing and as long as you stay seated and you're comfortable, then just sit back and relax and enjoy the show.

I suggest also ordering some hawaiian baby woodrose seeds off the internet. Then chew up eight after stating your intentions. Hope you have a strong stomach and if not eat/drink things to help it, there are many lists offline.

I really question dmt. But the hawaiian babies originally showed me our world. That was when I was first "enlightened" if you will.

Thanks everyone for your posts. :)

I'm not sure if my use of the word anxious was correct or not. I'm excited for the experience. I'm not expecting anything to come from it but what I have gained from it thus far which is limited to its culture, its society of users, and a little basic organic chemistry on the side. I'm not afraid of it, but I think I have a small idea of what its capable of.

Ill take all above and whatever else I learn along the way into consitteration when it matters most.

Thanks all!
