Yeah, looks like you might need to do ALOT more research.

A couple beers probably causes more brain damage than DMT, but that is just my uninformed opinion.
i completely disagree with that statement but like you that is just my uninformed opinion too. Seems like everyone on here just has opinions and no facts concerning a drug which is more earth shattering and mind twisting than anything i'm aware of...yet opinions honestly dont make me feel any safer constantly entering hyperspace and potentially setting myself up for alztimers later in life or schizofrenia or some sort of uncontrollable tremors (which i honestly just vagely began to notice after my last trip). Also speaking of HYPER this and that... i'm hyper healthy and athletic but DMT...really really opens too many spiritual answers and potentials to ignore if you are receptive to the idea of a afterlife, or a multidimensional universe.
Much of the DMT experience is not easily put into words, and I assume the same is true of a cerebral hypoxia-induced experience, so written experience reports will fail to answer the question concerning a connection.skinwalker said:For SWIM everytime he has smoked DMT it is very much like a HYPER real experience. however after reading about the effects of cerebral hypoxia and seeing several papers on a connection between smoking DMT and cerebral hypoxia, i'm curious if this (smoking dmt) really is nothing more than a change in the brain tissue's oxygen level...and possible brain damage. I realize that we all create DMT naturally however this massive influx of dmt generated from smoking i'm curious if it creates a hypoxic state that is actually mildly and briefly DAMAGING to ones brain? I want to believe that this is truely a spiritual experience rather than a self-induced brain disturbance.
And even if it was (which I seriously doubt), what would that show other than that the two experiences were subjectively "similar"? The mechanisms for the occurrence of each experience would be entirely different. To me this is like saying, "rain is when water falls on me from above, so when I get into the shower it is raining."skinwalker said:still in the back of my mind i wonder if i were to create a self induced hypoxic state if it wouldnt be similiar to the dmt experience?
awsome quote 88, love it!The tension between the desire to see and the fear of consequence is a big part of this journey.
As a kid I would lean over so my head was below my heart and breath heavily, then stand up quickly and hold my throat to cut off oxygen to my brain. DEFINITELY not the smartest thing I've doneskinwalker said:still in the back of my mind i wonder if i were to create a self induced hypoxic state if it wouldnt be similiar to the dmt experience? (god that almost sounds suicidal!..yikes) .
