Odd, and Potentially Gross, Question

Migrated topic.

Possible upregulation of INMT in lung tissues following acute DMT administration.

A study of radiolabelled DMT shows it is still present in the olfactory bulb (after injection) up to 7 days. However this radiolabelling of DMT isn't looked upon favourably for correct representation of pharmacokinetics.

Boom! Pow! Bam! Thank you, thank you, thank you (one for each link)!

I have some homework 😁

Now, question: how long do you taste it for after partaking in the spice Jozeh?

Someone's tree is in bloom near my house and the first time I walked by I thought, "DAMN, who's exploring higher dimensions right now?"
Only tangentially related.

I do have a bit of a funky taste after smoalking but it doesn't taste like DMT really. I can't describe it. Tastes how DMT smells? I never really considered it.

Lmao, what kinda tree is it?

Hmmm, interesting. I wonder what may be the cause of different tastes. Does this taste linger in your mouth for more than a day? And do you notice it particularly in your mucus?

Nah, it goes away pretty fast. Either that or I was always so caught up trying to understand what I'd just experienced to pay attention. Definitely didn't linger overnight though.

I don't know the species... I'll have to knock and ask.

Maybe it is more something mental than physical? Like the olfactory system keeps giving this sensation while the actual input which triggers the sensation isn't there anymore?

I have this with other really strong odours, malodours, and vapours as well. For example, the smell from desiccating laboratory animals or vapour from harsh chemicals like ammonia can keep lingering in my nose for several days which I keep smelling long as the source is gone (however not like a month fortunately:lol: )

Maybe DMT is produced in the mouth as a defense against bacteria that cause dental cavities: as long as you can make the bacteria believe they are interacting with machine elves in hyperspace, they're not digging holes in your enamel.

After a summer of smoalking a lot of DMT, I've been on a break for about a month...and mucus still tastes like deems

Have you had this confirmed independently?

*SNIFF just reconfirmed

I'm fairly confident that it's not mental, but, as always, I could be wrong. There's a link to some research above that talks about related molecules being stored in the "olfactory bulb."

What's ironic about your suggestion is that I have slightly conflated the smells of naphtha and freshly extracted DMT. I enjoy the smell of the solvent because of what it symbolizes. I enjoy the smell of DMT as well. In a recent extraction, after scraping and weighing, I spent a week smelling the jar, unable to tell if I was still able to pick up the scent of solvent or not

If only if only it worked that way hahaha.

If you like it, why not go all in? Take some MONSTER rips of just DMT... held in the mouth like thick cigar smoke, as long as you can, then exhaling very slowing through the nose.

Mucus wants to play DMT games, let it win DMT prizes!

Ooooo I really like this argument and the encouragement it brings! I suppose my the end of my break is approaching
