Sublingual harmalas for pharmahuasca?

There's basically no information about this online. From what I've read harmalas is multiple times more bioavailable when taken sublingually than when taken orally, but will it still work effectively enough to make orally dosed DMT active? I've read multiple comments claiming it won't work because the harmalas aren't directly inhibiting gut MAO, but I've yet to see any reports of people actually testing it out. In my mind the MAOI should be working throughout the entire body and inhibiting gut MAO regardless of where it was originally absorbed.

If anyone here has experience specifically using non oral Harmalas (vaped/sublingual) in combination with oral DMT, did it work? If so, what were your dosages for both DMT and harmalas, and how long did the experience last?

It shouldn't work well, it may work a little because you're likely to swallow some of it. Once absorbed sublingually, harmalas enter the blood, and they won't go into the stomach or intestines, there's a barrier (in a sense, the space inside the gastric tract could be considered to be "outside" your body). So any DMT will in principle be destroyed by the intact gut MAO.

However if you doubt this for any reason, just try it yourself and report back. The worst that can happen is that it doesn't work beyond the effects of harmalas.

If you do test it, I recommend you don't swallow any saliva while holding the harmalas sublingually, and to spit it and wash your mouth afterwards, before swallowing. That way you'll make sure that you aren't getting any oral harmalas.

This is the easiest/best way to conceptualize why it wouldn't be efficacious. The drug will make its way through the blood supply between your oral mucosa and the brain, it wouldn't know to travel down to your tummy and the body wouldn't know to secrete those alkaloids into the gastronomy if it did.

The tummy is a big happy mixing place that can be utilized, however our tools of choice must be collected there consciously if we are to use that avenue of alchemy.
