Surprising and somewhat upsetting story about (street) DMT

Migrated topic.
I wonder if the same thing that happened to mescaline here in quebec (and maybe elsewhere) will happen to DMT: in the late 80's and through the 90s, PCP was regularly sold as mescaline, probably to capitalize on the re-popularization of Huxley's "Doors of Perception" and to move a product (PCP aka angel dust) that had been much maligned by the press, as well as having a much exaggerated reputation for ending people either flat on the sidewalk from a lengthy drop or in the emergency room screaming like demon-ridden psychopaths...

I can, regrettably, foresee Crystal Meth being peddled as spice...

Hopefully some yuppie will accidentally hit some spice in a bathroom and have a completely life changing breakthrough religious experience, quit his job on Wall Street, and decide to drop out of society and go to Shpongle concerts.

By the way, remember when everyone was saying to be careful of things that might be laced with acid? Where was I during all this?! I want to get dosed too!

Anyway, club kids should just stick with coke or X. Hope they don't make mimosa hostilis fully illegal.

because they are not recreational neither give pleasure.

Well pleasure is something it gives me quite often... But not always obviously. I agree it's more of a "explorer's tool".

For me, DMT in any decent dose is way too overwhelming to be done in a public setting like that. I'll stick to my quiet settings in my home.

And there is the very real question: while it may often give pleasure, while it is sometimes nice to dance, what if it makes you freak out, puke and/or shit? What if you cry, what if you scream? What if you panic? These things can happen, so it's best to make sure you are totally solid and in a safe, gentle, loving space so you can fall into the experience and safely let your process happen. These are definitely NOT negative occurrences, but can become extremely negative or even unsafe in a public (especially sketchy, public) setting.

It's like playing roulette. I don't want to lose a game of excrement roulette in a public.
